HEARD - REPENTED - BELIEVED - SAVED

THE GOSPEL:  THE GOOD NEWS OF THE REMISSION OF OUR SINS

"And He said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the Prophets, and in the Psalms, concerning Me. Then opened He their understanding, that they might understand the Scriptures, and said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem" (Lk. 24:44-47).

"Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the Gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; by which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.  For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the scriptures" (1 Cor. 15:1-4).

THE GOSPEL PRODUCES REPENTANCE WHICH LEADS TO FAITH

"For John came unto you in the way of righteousness, and ye believed him not: but the publicans and the harlots believed him: and ye, when ye had seen it, repented not afterward, that ye might believe him" (Mt. 21:32).

"And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel" (Mk. 1:15).

FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST AS LORD RESULTS IN SALVATION

". . . whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved" (Acts 2:21).

"And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved . . ." (Acts 16:31).

"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved" (Rom. 10:13).

THE SAVED ARE THE CHILDREN OF GOD

"He came unto His own, and His own received Him not.  But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the (children) of God, even to them that believe on His name" (Jn. 1:11-12).

"The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God" (Rom. 8:16).

"By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep His commandments" (1 Jn. 5:2).

BECAUSE WE ARE SAVED:
we worship Him (Ex. 4:31); we praise Him (Ps. 106:12);
we pray to Him (Mt. 8:13); we are righteous (Gen. 15:6);
we have eternal life (Jn. 3:15);
and we love our brethren (1 Jn. 3:14).
