THE FOUNDATION OF REPENTANCE AND FAITH

Luke 5:32 - And Jesus said, "I am not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance."

Luke 24:45-48 - "Then opened He their mind, that they might understand the Scriptures; and He said unto them, Thus it is written, that the Christ should suffer, and rise again from the dead the third day; and that REPENTANCE AND REMISSION OF SINS SHOULD BE PREACHED IN HIS NAME unto all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem.  Ye are witnesses of these things.

Acts 5:30-32 - "The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, Whom ye slew, hanging Him on a tree.  Him did God exalt with His right hand to be Prince and Savior, to give repentance to Israel, and remission of sins.  And we are witnesses of these things; and so is the Holy Spirit, Whom God hath given to them that obey Him."

Acts 11:17-18 - "Forasmuch then as God gave them the like gift as He did unto us, who believed on the Lord Jesus Christ; what was I, that I could withstand God?  When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life."

Acts 20:20-21 - "And how I kept back nothing that was profitable unto you, but have showed you, and have taught you publicly, and from house to house, testifying both to the Jews, and also to the (Gentiles), repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ."

Acts 26:18-20 - "To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.  Whereupon, O king Agrippa, I was not disobedient unto the heavenly vision:  but showed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles, THAT THEY SHOULD REPENT AND TURN TO GOD, and do works meet for repentance."

Romans 2:4 - "...knowing that THE GOODNESS OF GOD LEADETH THEE TO REPENTANCE...."

2 Corinthians 7:9-10 - "Now I rejoice, not that ye were made sorry, but that ye sorrowed to repentance:  for ye were made sorry after a godly manner, that ye might receive damage by us in nothing.  FOR GODLY SORROW WORKETH REPENTANCE TO SALVATION  not to be repented of:  but the sorrow of the world worketh death."

Hebrews 6:1-2 - "Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again THE FOUNDATION OF REPENTANCE FROM DEAD WORKS, AND OF FAITH TOWARD GOD, of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment."

2 Peter 3:9 - "THE LORD IS...NOT WILLING THAT ANY SHOULD PERISH, BUT THAT ALL SHOULD COM TO REPENTANCE."
