IF YOU TRULY BELIEVE JESUS DIED FOR YOU, LIVE AS THOUGH YOU ARE THANKFUL!

THE WORD OF GOD CONCERNING CHURCH DISCIPLINE

2 Timothy 3:16-17 - All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:  that the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.  [Note:  "doctrine" = teaching of Bible truths; "reproof" = rebuke for departing from the teachings of the Bible; "correction" = bringing a errant one to living according to the teachings of the Bible; "instruction in righteousness" = guiding or mentoring the repentant one.]

EXAMPLES OF CHURCH DISCIPLINE IN THE WORD

Matthew 18:15-17 - Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone:  if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.  But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.  And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church:  but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican.

1 Corinthians 5:1-5 - It is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father's wife.  And you are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he that has done this deed might be taken away from among you.  For I verily, as absent in body, but present in spirit, have judged already, as though I were present, concerning him that has so done this deed, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when you are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ, to deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.

2 Thessalonians 3:6-14 - Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you withdraw yourselves from every brother that walks disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us.  For yourselves know how you ought to follow us:  for we behaved not ourselves disorderly among you; neither did we eat any man's bread for nought; but wrought with labor and travail night and day, that we might not be chargeable to any of you:  not because we have not power, but to make ourselves an example unto you to follow us.  For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.  For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies.  Now them that are such we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread.  But you, brethren, be not weary in well doing.  And if any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed.

THE LORD KNOWS THOSE WHO BELONG TO HIM,
AND IT IS HIS WILL THAT EVERY ONE WHO HAS
TRUSTED IN CHRIST SHOULD DEPART FROM INIQUITY!
