PENTECOST: THE UNIQUE FEAST OF THE LORD!

THE SEVEN FEASTS OF THE LORD - LEVITICUS 23

The "Gospel Feasts" (1 Cor. 15:3-4).
The three Spring Feasts are prophetic pictures of Christ's First Advent:  Passover (v. 5); Unleavened Bread (v. 6); and Firstfruits (v. 10).  These three were literally fulfilled in Christ's Crucifixion for the sins of the world (1 Cor. 5:7; 1 Jn. 2:2), The "unleavened" (sinless - 2 Cor. 5:21; Heb. 4:15) Bread of Life's (Jn. 6:35) burial consisting of "three days and three nights in the heart of the earth" (Mt. 12:40); His Resurrection as the firstfruits from the grave (1 Cor. 15:20-23).

The "Time of Jacob's Trouble Feasts" (Jer. 30:7).
The three Fall Feasts are also depictions of the events surrounding Christ's Second Advent:  Trumpets (v. 24); Atonement (v. 27); and Tabernacles (v. 34).  These three will be literally fulfilled in the trumpet call for Israel to gather in Israel, under the protection of the false Christ, the Antichrist (Dan. 9:27; Joel 2:15).  For three and a half years, Israel will only hear of wars and rumors of wars, but they will not experience them while under the Antichrist's protection (Mt. 24:6).  Then in the exact middle of the seven-years Tribulation, the "Day of the Atonement" will begin, with the Antichrist declaring himself to be God (Dan. 9:27; Mt. 24:15)!  For the next three and a half years, Israel will be persecuted by the Antichrist.  Then, Jesus will return to destroy the Antichrist, and to tabernacle with Israel for His 1000 year Millennial Kingdom (Rev. 20:1-6).

The "Unique Feast" - Pentecost (Lev. 23:15-17).
"And ye shall count unto you from the morrow after the Sabbath, from the day that ye brought the sheaf of the wave offering; seven Sabbaths shall be complete:  even unto the morrow after the seventh Sabbath shall ye number fifty days; and ye shall offer a new meat offering unto the LORD.  Ye shall bring out of your habitations two wave loaves of two tenth deals: they shall be of fine flour; they shall be baked with leaven; they are the firstfruits unto the LORD."

This feast is unique in several ways:  1)  It stands alone; 2)  Christ is not pictured in this feast; 3)  The feast demands that leaven be used (leaven is ALWAYS a picture of sin); and 4)  The two loaves, although they are bread, do not represent Jesus as the Bread of Life, but picture His Church comprised of both Jews and Gentiles who believe the Gospel and are born again.  The Book of Acts records the birth of the Lord's Church (Acts 2:1-47).  The leaven indicates that while both are saved, they are not sinless - Christians still sin (Rom. 7:14-25; 1 Jn. 1:8-10).

This year, Pentecost will fall on May 20th.  If the Church is removed then, there will be 113 days before the Feast of Trumpets, the first of the Fall Feasts!  The end of the Church Age will occur with the removal of born again believers in what is known as the Rapture (Jn. 14:1-3; 1 Cor. 15:50-54; 1 Th. 4:13-18).  We do not know how much time will pass following the removal of the Church, and the beginning of the Fall Feasts, but Pentecost is May 20th, and that is exactly forty days from today.

ARE YOU READY?  I CANNOT WAIT!
