SALVATION IS A TWO-SIDED COIN: WHAT CHRIST DID FOR US, AND OUR RESPONSE UPON BELIEVING IT!

THE LORD'S FINAL INSTRUCTIONS TO US!

Luke 24:44-48And Jesus said unto them, These are the words which I spoke unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the Law of Moses, and in the Prophets, and in the Psalms, concerning Me.  Then He opened their understanding, that they might understand the Scriptures, and said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behooved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:  and that REPENTANCE AND REMISSION OF SINS should be preached in His name among all nations, beginning at JerusalemAnd you are witnesses of these things.

μετάνοια (metanoia)REPENTANCE!

This Greek word is defined as "having a change of mind."  It is a new way of thinking that results from "seeing the light."  It is a new way of thinking based upon faith in "new information."  In Psychology, it is often referred to as a Gestalt Switch; seeing things from a new and permanent perspective.

Acts 20:17-21 - And from Miletus, Paul sent to Ephesus, and called the elders of the church.  And when they were come to him, he said unto them, You know, from the first day that I came into Asia, after what manner I have been with you at all seasons, serving the Lord with all humility of mind, and with many tears, and temptations, which befell me by the lying in wait of the Jews:  and how I kept back nothing that was profitable unto you, but have showed you, and have taught you publicly, and from house to house, testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.

Hebrews 6:1-3Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead (religious) works, and faith toward God, of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.  And this will we do, if God permit.

ἄφεσις (aphesis)REMISSION!

This Greek word is defined as "a sending away; removal; forgiveness."  The Gospel, the message having the power to save the souls of those who believe it, declares how the penalty due us for our sins has been satisfied:

Romans 1:16 - For I (Paul) am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ:  for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believes; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek (Gentile).

1 Corinthians 15:1-6 - Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the Gospel which I preached unto you, which also you have received, and wherein you stand; by which also you are saved - - - For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures; and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures:  and that He was seen of Cephas (by Peter), then by the twelve:  after that, He was seen of above (more than) five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present (are still living), but some are fallen asleep (have died).

2 Corinthians 5:20-21 - Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us:  we pray you in Christ's stead, be reconciled to God.  For He (the Father) has made Him (Jesus) to be sin for us, Who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.

WITHOUT CHRIST REMITTING OUR SINS,
REPENTANCE WOULD DO US NO GOOD!

THANKS BE TO GOD FOR GIVING HIS SON
SO THAT WE CAN BE SAVED FROM OUR SINS!

DO YOU BELIEVE THIS?
THEN PASS IT ON!
