TWO REASONS GOD GAVE MOSES THE LAW!

TO SHOW US OUR INABILITY
TO EARN ETERNAL LIFE!

Galatians 3:19-25 King James Version
[19] Wherefore then serveth the Law (What purpose then does the Law serve)?  It was added because of transgressions (to reveal our sins), till the seed (Jesus, Abraham' descendant) should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.  [20] Now a mediator is not a mediator of one, but God is one.  [21] Is the Law then against the promises of God?  God forbid:  for if there had been a Law given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by the Law.  [22] But the Scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.  [23] But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed.  [24] Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.  [25] But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.

TO DEFINE WHAT HE MEANS WHEN
HE SAYS WE ARE TO LOVE OTHERS!

Matthew 22:36-40 King James Version
[36] Master, which is the great commandment in the Law?  [37] Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.  [38] This is the first and great commandment.  [39] And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.  [40] On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

Romans 13:8-10 King James Version
[8] Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the Law. [9] For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.  [10] Love worketh no ill to his neighbor:  therefore love is the fulfilling of the Law.

Galatians 5:13-14 King James Version
[13] For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.  [14] For all the Law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.

1 John 5:1-4 King James Version
[1] Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God:  and every one that loveth Him Who begot loveth Him also Who is begotten of Him.  [2] By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep His commandments.  [3] For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments:  and His commandments are not grievous.  [4] For whosoever is born of God overcometh the world:  and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.

THE LAW DEFINES HOW WE ARE TO LOVE!
