TWO DIFFERENT MEN FOR TWO SEPARATE EVENTS!

WHY MOSES AND ELIJAH?

Matthew 16:27 - 17:8 - in my own words:
For the Son of man shall come in the glory of His Father with His angels; and then He shall reward every man according to his works.  Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, who shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in His kingdom.
And after six days Jesus took Peter, James and his brother John, and brought them up into a high mountain apart, and was transfigured before them:  and His face did shine as the sun, and His raiment was white as the light.  And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elijah talking with Him.
Then Peter said, Lord, it is good for us to be here:  if You will it, let us make here three tabernacles; one for You, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah.
While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them:  and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is My Beloved Son, in Whom I am well pleased; listen to him.
And when the disciples heard it, they fell on their face, and were sore afraid.  And Jesus came and touched them, and said, Arise, and be not afraid.  And when they had lifted up their eyes, they saw no man, except Jesus only.

Mark 9:1-9 - in my own words
And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That there be some of them that stand here, who shall not taste of death, till they have seen the kingdom of God come with power.
And after six days Jesus took with Him Peter, and James, and John, and led them up into an high mountain apart by themselves:  and He was transfigured before them.  And His raiment became shining, exceedingly white as snow; so as nothing on earth could whiten them.  And there appeared unto them Elijah with Moses:  and they were talking with Jesus.
And Peter said to Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here:  and let us make three tabernacles; one for You, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah.  For he knew not what to say; for they were very afraid.
And there was a cloud that overshadowed them: and a voice came out of the cloud, saying, This is My Beloved Son:  listen to Him.
And suddenly, when they had looked round about, they saw none except Jesus with themselves.  And as they came down from the mountain, He charged them that they should tell no man what things they had seen, till the Son of man has risen from the dead.

Luke 9:26-36 - in my own words
For whosoever shall be ashamed of Me and of My words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when He shall come in His own glory, and in His Father's, and of the holy angels.  But I tell you of a truth, there be some standing here, who shall not taste of death, till they see the kingdom of God.
And in about eight days, after these sayings, He took Peter and John and James, and went up into a mountain to pray.  And as He prayed, the fashion of His countenance was altered, and His raiment was white and glistering.  And, behold, to men talked with Him, who were Moses and Elijah:  who appeared in glory, and spoke of his death which He should accomplish at Jerusalem.
But Peter, and they that were with him, were sound asleep:  and when they awoke, they saw His glory, and the two men that stood with Him.  And it came to pass, as they departed from Him, Peter said unto Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here:  and let us make three tabernacles; one for You, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah:  not knowing what he said.
While he was still speaking, there came a cloud, and overshadowed them:  and they feared as they entered into the cloud.  And there came a voice out of the cloud, saying, This is My beloved Son:  listen to Him.

And when the voice was past, Jesus was found alone.  And they kept it close, and told no man in those days any of those things which they had seen.

JESUS CAME TO THE LOST SHEEP OF ISRAEL:
MOSES AND ELIJAH REPRESENTED
ISRAEL'S LAW AND PROPHETS!

WHY ENOCH AND ELIJAH!

Revelation 11:1-12 - in my own words
And there was given me a reed like unto a rod:  and the angel stood, saying, Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein.  But the court which is outside the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles:  and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months.  And I will give power unto My two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.  These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth.  And if any man will hurt them, fire shall proceed out of their mouths, and devour their enemies:  and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed.  These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy:  and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will.

And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascends out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them.  And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.
And those of every people and kindred and language and nation, shall see their dead bodies three days and an half, and shall not allow their dead bodies to be put in graves.  And they that dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwelt on the earth.
And after three and a half days, the Spirit of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them which saw them.  And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up hither.  And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them.

THESE TWO WITNESSES PREACH TO BOTH
GENTILES AND JEWS DURING THE TRIBULATION!

ENOCH WAS A GENTILE; ELIJAH WAS A JEW!

NEITHER DIED AND YET THE WORD SAYS
IT IS APPOINTED UNTO MEN ONCE TO DIE!
(Gen. 5:23-24; 2 Kgs. 2:1, 11; Heb. 9:27)!
