TO WHICH TRINITY DO YOU BELONG?

The Trinity that is God, is known through God's Word, to be the God of all truth. The Father is called the God of truth (Deut. 32:4; Ps. 31:5; Isa. 65:16). The Son is the Truth personified (Jn. 1:14, 17; 14:6). The Holy Spirit is called the "Spirit of truth" (Jn. 14:17; 15:26; 16:13). In other words, whatever God has said, you can trust it to be true.

In contrast, there is another "trinity" which the Word of God says is characterized by lies. This false "trinity" consists of the "anti-father" (the Dragon, that old Serpent, the Devil, and Satan - Rev. 12:9; 20:2). He is called "the god of this world" (2 Cor. 4:4). Not only does he lie, he is called the father of lies (Jn. 8:44).

Just as the true God sent us The Truth, Christ, the false god will provide the world with the Antichrist (2 Thes. 2:3-5; 1 Jn. 2:18; Rev. 13:1-4). He will be like his "father" in that he will be a liar (2 Thes. 2:4, 11; 1 Jn. 2:2). He, like his "father," will "deceive the whole world" (2 Jn. 1:7; Rev. 12:9).

And, just as the Holy Spirit's ministry is focused upon Jesus, the second person of the Trinity, so also is it the "ministry" of the third member of the satanic trinity (the False Prophet - Rev. 16:13; 19:20; 20:10) to focus the world on the Antichrist (Jn. 16:13-15; Rev. 13:12). And as the Holy Spirit worked genuine miracles through Christ to reveal His identity (Lk. 4:14; Rom. 15:19), the False Prophet will show false signs and work miracles to deceive the world into believing in the Antichrist (Matt. 24:24; Rev. 13:13; 16:14).

Finally, those who follow Christ are to walk in the truth. In fact, the true test of a person's salvation is evidenced by whether or not he or she tells the truth. Paul wrote, " But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the Word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God" (2 Cor. 4:2).

John made a point of calling believers to be truthful in all three of his epistles:

* "If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth" (1 Jn. 1:6).
* "I rejoiced greatly that I found of thy children walking in truth, as we have received a commandment from the Father" (2 Jn. 1:4).
* "For I rejoiced greatly, when the brethren came and testified of the truth that is in thee, even as thou walkest in the truth" (3 Jn. 1:3).

Based upon all of this, if you want to know whether or not you are a child of God, just ask yourself these questions. "Do I resemble the Christ, or the Antichrist?" "Am I known for telling the truth, or am I known for being a liar?" "Is God my Father, or am I a child of the "father of lies?" You be the judge. If God is your Father, praise the Lord! If Satan is your father, then turn to the Lord! And do it quickly!
