THE GOSPEL IS TRULY THE GOOD NEWS

Romans 1:14-17 - "For I have a great sense of obligation to people in both the civilized world and the rest of the world, to the educated and uneducated alike.  So I am eager to come to you in Rome, too, to preach the Good News, (the Gospel of Jesus Christ).  For I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ.  It is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes—the Jew first and also the Gentile.  This Good News tells us how God makes us right in His sight. This is accomplished from start to finish by faith.  As the Scriptures say, It is through faith that a person has life."

1 Corinthians 15:1-9 - "Let me now remind you, dear brothers and sisters, of the (Gospel message) I preached to you before.  You welcomed it then, and you still stand firm in it.  It is this Good News that saves you if you continue to believe the message I told you—unless, of course, you believed something that was never true in the first place.  I passed on to you what was most important and what had also been passed on to me. Christ died for our sins, just as the Scriptures said.  He was buried, and He was raised from the dead on the third day, just as the Scriptures said.  He was seen by Peter and then by the Twelve:  that, He was seen by more than 500 of His followers at one time, most of whom are still alive, though some have died.  Then He was seen by James and later by all the apostles.  Last of all, as though I had been born at the wrong time, I also saw him.  For I am the least of all the apostles.  In fact, I’m not even worthy to be called an apostle after the way I persecuted God’s Church."

Romans 10:8-17 - "...(The Gospel) is the very message about faith that we preach:  If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.  For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.  As the Scriptures tell us, Anyone who trusts in Him will never be disgraced.  Jew and Gentile are the same in this respect.  They have the same Lord, who gives generously to all who call on Him.  For Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.  But how can they call on Him to save them unless they believe in Him?  And how can they believe in Him if they have never heard about Him?  And how can they hear about Him unless someone tells them?  And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent?  That is why the Scriptures say, How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring (the) Good News!  But not everyone welcomes the Good News, for Isaiah the prophet said, Lord, who has believed our message?  So faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ."  (Note:  I based these "quotes" on the NLT).
