YOU HAVE BEEN SAVED TO OBEY THE LORD!
Acts 5:27-42 - And when they had brought them, they set them before the council: and the high priest asked them, saying, Did not we straitly (not sure of the meaning: clearly; openly; strictly?) command you that you should not teach in this name? And, behold, you have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this man's blood upon us.
Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men. The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, Whom you slew (forcefully took) and hanged on a tree. Him has God exalted with His right hand to be a Prince and a Savior, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins. And we are His witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, Whom God has given to those who obey Him. When they heard that, they were cut to the heart, and took counsel to slay (kill; a totally different Greek word than for slew above) them. Then stood there up one in the council, a Pharisee, named Gamaliel, a doctor of the Law, had in reputation among all the people, and commanded to put the apostles forth a little space; and said unto them, You men of Israel, take heed to yourselves what you intend to do as touching these men. For before these days rose up Theudas, boasting himself to be somebody; to whom a number of men, about four hundred, joined themselves: who was slain; and all, as many as obeyed him, were scattered, and brought to nought. After this man rose up Judas of Galilee in the days of the taxing, and drew away much people after him: he also perished; and all, even as many as obeyed him, were dispersed. And now I say unto you, Refrain from these men, and let them alone: for if this counsel or this work be of men, it will come to nought: but if it be of God, you cannot overthrow it; lest haply (you discover) you be found even to fight against God. And to him they agreed: and when they had called the apostles, and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go.
And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for His name. And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.
Note: Notice that the followers of Theudas and Judas of Galilee followers obeyed them. Therefore, this passage clearly shows that one is to obey their leader; hopefully your leader is Jesus Christ.
WE HAVE BEEN SAVED TO SERVE THE LORD!
Psalm 100:2 - SERVE THE LORD WITH GLADNESS: COME BEFORE HIS PRESENCE WITH SINGING.
Matthew 28:18-20 - And Jesus came and spoke unto them, saying, All power (power to govern; authority) is given unto Me in heaven and on earth. You go, therefore, and teach (proclaim the Gospel, and in so doing, make disciples in) all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
1 Corinthians 3:10-15 - According to the grace (unearnable; unmerited favor) of God which is given unto me, as a wise master-builder, I have laid the foundation, and another builds thereon. But let every man take heed how he builds thereupon. For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. If any man's work abide which he has built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.
Ephesians 2*8-10 - For by grace (unearnable; unmerited favor) are you saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God has before ordained that we should walk in them.
GOD LOVES YOU!
LOVE HIM BACK!
