THE MESSAGE OF CHRIST'S RESURRECTION!

THE OLD TESTAMENT PROPHETS SHOULD HAVE BEEN ENOUGH!

Luke 16:19-31 - There was a certain rich man, who was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day:  and there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, who was laid at his gate, full of sores, and desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table:  moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.  And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom:  the rich man also died, and was buried; and in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torment, and he saw Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.  And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.  But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime received thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things:  but now, he is comforted, and thou art tormented.  And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed:  so that they which would pass from here to you cannot;  neither can they pass to us, that would come from there.  Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou would send him to my father's house:  for I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.  Abraham said unto him, They have Moses and the Prophets; let them hear them.  And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.  And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the Prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.

THE PROPHET JONAH WAS A PICTURE OF THE GOSPEL MESSAGE!

Jonah 1:9-12, 15-17And he said unto them, I am an Hebrew; and I fear the LORD, the God of heaven, Who has made the sea and the dry land.  Then were the men exceedingly afraid, and said unto him, Why have you done this?  For the men knew that he fled from the presence of the LORD, because he had told them.  Then said they unto him, What shall we do unto thee, that the sea may be calm unto us?  For the sea wrought, and was tempestuous.  And he said unto them, Take me up, and cast me forth into the sea; so shall the sea be calm unto you:  for I know that for my sake this great tempest is upon you. - - - So they took up Jonah, and cast him forth into the sea: and the sea ceased from her raging.  Then the men feared the LORD exceedingly, and offered a sacrifice unto the LORD, and made vows.  Now the LORD had prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonah.  And Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.

Matthew 12:38-40 - Then certain of the scribes and of the Pharisees answered, saying, Master, we would see a sign from thee.  But He answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the Prophet Jonah:  for as Jonah was three days and three nights in the whale's belly;  so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

THE GOSPEL, GOD'S MESSAGE THAT SAVES THE LOST!

Romans 1:16-17 - For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ:  for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believes; to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile.  For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith:  as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

1 Corinthians 15:1-6 - Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the Gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; by which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.  For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures; and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures:  and that He was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve:  after that, He was seen by more than five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep.

JESUS NOT ONLY ROSE FROM THE DEAD, HIS RETURN IS IMMINENT!
WILL HE COME TO RESCUE YOU, OR WILL HE COME TO DEFEAT YOU?
