BECOMING A CHILD OF GOD!

BECOMING A CHILD OF GOD!

Matthew 5:9 Blessed are the peacemakers*:  for they shall be called the children of God.

* Note:  Those who have made peace with God and are reconciled with Him - see Romans 5:1; 2 Corinthians 5:20 below:

Romans 5:1 - Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.

2 Corinthians 5:20-21 - Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us:  we pray you in Christ's stead, be reconciled to God.  For He has made Him (Jesus, His Only Begotten Son) to be sin for us, Who knew no sin (was sinless - see Hebrews 4:15); that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.

WE ARE GOD'S ADOPTED CHILDREN!

Romans 8:14-16 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons (children) of God.  For you have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but you have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.  The Spirit Himself bearing witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God.

Ephesians 1:3-5 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Who has blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:  according as He has chosen us (according to His foreknowledge - see Romans 8:29) in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love:  having predestined us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will.

NO ONE DESERVES TO BE GOD'S CHILD!

Romans 3:10, 23As it is written, There is none righteous (holy, perfect), no, not one . . . . For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God (short of God's standards - perfection).

Romans 7:18-19, 24-25 - For I (the Apostle Paul) know that in me (that is, in my flesh), dwells no good thing:  for to will (to obey God) is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.  For the good that I would I do not:  but the evil which I would not, that I do. . . . O wretched man that I am (present tense)! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?  I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord.  So then with the mind I myself serve the Law (the will) of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

Ephesians 2:8-9For by grace are you saved through faith; and that not of yourselves:  it is the gift of God:  not of works, lest any man should boast.

Titus 3:5Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us....

BUT THANK GOD, BELIEVERS ARE!

John 3:1-2Behold, what manner of love the Father has bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons (children) of God:  therefore the world knows us not, because it knew Him not.  Beloved, now are we the sons (children) of God, and it does not yet appear what we shall be:  but we know that, when He shall appear, we shall be like Him; for we shall see Him as He is.
