THE ONLY SURE WAY TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT THING TO DO, IS TO BE FILLED WITH GOD'S SPIRIT!

TWELVE APOSTLES SENT WITH POWER!

Matthew 10:1-4And when He had called unto Him His twelve disciples, He gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease.  Now the names of the twelve apostles are these; the first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother; Philip, and Bartholomew; Thomas, and Matthew the publican; James the son of Alphaeus, and Lebbaeus, whose surname was Thaddaeus; Simon the Canaanite, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed Him.

ELEVEN APOSTLES TOLD TO WAIT FOR POWER!

Acts 1:1-5. 8The former treatise (The Gospel of Luke) have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach, until the day in which He was taken up, after He, through the Holy Ghost, had given commandments unto the apostles whom He had chosen:  to whom also He showed Himself alive after His passion (torture and crucifixion) by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God:  and, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, He said, you have heard of Me.  For John truly baptized with water; but you shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence. . . . But you shall receive power, after the Holy Ghost is come upon you:  and you shall be witnesses unto Me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part (ends) of the earth.

DID THE ELEVEN WAIT?  NO!

Acts 1:15-17, 26 - And in those days Peter stood up in the midst of the disciples, and said, (the number of names together were about an hundred and twenty,) Men and brethren, this Scripture must needs have been (needs to be) fulfilled, which the Holy Ghost by the mouth of David spoke before concerning Judas, who was guide to them that took Jesus.  For he was numbered with us, and had obtained part of this ministry. . . . For it is written in the book of Psalms, Let his habitation be desolate, and let no man dwell therein:  and his bishopric (position of authority) let another take.  Wherefore of these men which have companied with us all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us, beginning from the baptism of John, unto that same day that He was taken up from us, must one be ordained to be a witness with us of His resurrection.  And they appointed two, Joseph called Barsabas, who was surnamed Justus, and Matthias.  And they prayed, and said, Lord, You know the hearts of all men, show which of these two You have chosen, that he may take part of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place.  And they gave forth their lots (voted); and the lot fell upon Matthias; and he was numbered with the eleven apostles.

Note:  They were told to wait.  They were not told to hold a business meeting and choose a replacement for Judas.  The qualifications stated were obviously false as the Apostle Paul did not, by those standards, qualify!  Matthias is never mentioned again; the Apostle Paul wrote half of the New Testament!  Finally, the Book of Revelation clearly states that there are only twelve Apostles chosen by God; all others were chosen by mere men!

Revelation 21:14 - And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

THE MORAL OF THE STORY:
DON'T MAKE DECISIONS FOR GOD, UNLESS
YOU ARE FILLED WITH THE SPIRIT!
