Israel is important in both Testaments; the Church is the main focus of the New Testament.
Israel relied upon animal sacrifices; the Church relies upon the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.
Israel was promised earthly rewards for faithfulness; the Church will be rewarded in heaven.
Israel was to fill their minds with the Word; the Church is filled with the Holy Spirit.
Israel was chosen by God; the Church has been called by Jesus.
Israel had Daniel's prophecy as to actually when their Messiah would come; the Church does not know exactly when He will return.
Israel rejected Jesus as their Messiah; the Church accepted Jesus as the Son of God.
Israel will go through the Tribulation on earth; the Church will spend that time in heaven.
Israel will experience the Kingdom as citizens; the Church will reign over the Kingdom with Christ.
Israel observes the last day of the week; the Church observes the first day of the week.
Israel (which began with Abraham (Gen. 12) and the Church [which began at Pentecost and is a mystery to Israel (Acts 2:1-47; Eph. 5:32), a parenthetical period within God's dealing with Israel]. The timeline for these two entities is as follows: Abraham called; the Law given; the Christ rejected; [Israel temporarily set aside during the Church Age; the Rapture of the Church]; the seven-year Tribulation; the Second Coming; the Millennial Kingdom of Christ; the Great White Throne Judgment; and Eternity.
Those things written to Israel do not all apply to the Church;
To add to your knowledge of God's will, you must learn to divide His Word!
