GOD'S FINAL CALL TO REPENTANCE

The Book of Revelation is best known for the terrible wrath of God, which is expressed in "natural calamities" (earthquakes, hail, disease, famine, etc.), and in allowing the work of Satan in deceiving (Rev. 12:9; 13:14; 18:23; 19:20; 20:8) and murdering all who will not bow to him (Jn. 8:44; Heb. 2:14; Rev. 13:15).  However, Revelation should be understood as proof that 2 Peter 3:9 is true; it says, "The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance."  The Book is motivated by God's "last-ditch effort" to win the lost while there is still time!  It is His will that all call upon the Lord and be saved (Jn. 6:29; Rom. 10:8-17)!

"And from Jesus Christ, who is the Faithful  Witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the Prince of the kings of the earth. Unto Him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in His own blood" (1:5).

"And I will give power unto My two witness, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth" (11:3).

"And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people" (14:6).

"And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years" (20:4).

Also, while I cannot prove it, it is very possible that the 144,000 sealed Jews, were sealed with the name of God on their foreheads (Compare 7:4 with 14:1)!

I pray that when you stand before Him, He will acknowledge you as His faithful witness!
