GOD IS ALLOWING AMERICA'S DOWNWARD SPIRAL

According to the Word of God, all human beings are sinners, and as a result, must die (Ezek. 18:4; Rom. 3:9; 6: 23; etc.).  Fortunately for us, there was one exception, the God/Man, Jesus Christ (Jn. 1:1, 14; Heb. 4:15)!  Because He did not have to die due to His own sins, He was qualified to die and pay the penalty for the sins of all mankind (Isa. 53:6, 9; 2 Cor. 5:21; Gal. 3:13; 1 Pet. 2:22-24; 1 Jn. 3:5; etc.)!  Following His death on the cross, and His burial in a "borrowed tomb," God raised Him from the dead, as proof His death was acceptable as payment for our sins (Jn. 3:16; Rom. 3:25; 1 Cor. 5:7; 1 Jn. 2:2; 4:10; etc.)!  That is the Good News, the Gospel message (1 Cor. 15:1-4)! 

Failure to accept Christ's death, burial, and resurrection, on my behalf, will result in my being required to stand before Almighty God, and be sentenced to death (Jn. 8:24).  We tend to think of death as the termination of life, but that is not so.  Death is followed by God's judgment.  All will stand before God's Great White Throne Judgment, and those who had refused to trust in Jesus, will be sentenced to the "second death," an eternity in the Lake of Fire (Rev. 20:6-15)!

I do not profess to know what hell (or the Lake of Fire) will be like, but I think of it as being on fire (like the burning bush - burning but not consuming), and varying in depth from ankle-deep, to chin-deep.  We do know that there will be varying degrees of punishment, based upon the teachings of Jesus (Mt. 10:15; 11:22; etc.).  I know that the torment will be horrible, and that those sentenced to suffer there, will beg for a drop of water to quench their terrible thirst (Lk. 16:24). 

Some refuse to believe that God will carry out His sentence, claiming that He is a God of love (Jn. 3:16; 1 Jn. 4:8, 16; etc.).  However, every other thing that He has said would do has come to pass!  God would be a liar if He failed to carry out what He said He will do, and we know that God cannot lie (Heb. 6:18)! 

Besides, He has gone out of His way to warn mankind.  He tolerated their rejection and as a result, their hearts were darkened (what light He had given them, faded - Rom. 1:21-23).  Then, He allowed them to become defiled with lust and idol worship (Rom. 1:24-25).  They continued to reject Him, and so He gave them up to homosexuality (Rom. 1:26-27).  Finally, God gave them over to a reprobate mind; a mind devoid of morality (Rom. 1:28-31).  They not only mocked God, they encouraged others to do the same (Rom. 1:32)!  Sound familiar?

When God removes His restraints, man becomes more and more like Satan!
