SHOW RESPECT TO THE AGED

Leviticus 19:32 - Thou shalt rise up before the hoary* head, and honor the face of the old man, and fear thy God:  I am the LORD.

BUT IT MUST BE EARNED

Proverbs 16:31 - The hoary* head is a crown of glory, IF it be found in the way of righteousness.

* Note:  "hoary" means hair that appears covered in frost; the white hair of the elderly.

SHOW RESPECT TO WOMEN

Exodus 20:14 - Thou shalt not commit adultery.

DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT

Matthew 5:27-28 - Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery:  but I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.

OBEY THOSE WHO HAVE AUTHORITY OVER YOU

Hebrews 13:17 - Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves:  for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief:  for that is unprofitable for you.

UNLESS THEY ORDER YOU TO DISOBEY GOD

Acts 5:27-29 - And when they had brought them, they set them before the council: and the high priest asked them, saying, Did not we straightly command you that ye should not teach in this name?  And, behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this man's blood upon us.  Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.

SHARE WITH THE NEEDY

Proverbs 25:21 - If thine enemy be hungry, give him bread to eat; and if he be thirsty, give him water to drink.

BUT

2 Thessalonians 3:10 - For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.

SALVATION IS A FREE GIFT FROM GOD

Ephesians 2:8-9 - For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:  not of works, lest any man should boast.

BUT IT IS TO BE LIVED OUT

Ephesians 2:10 - For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Philippians 2:12-13 - Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out (as in exercise) your own salvation with fear and trembling.  For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
