LEVITICUS 23: THE SEVEN "FEASTS" OF THE LORD!
"FEASTS" - The Hebrew word translated "feasts" is mow 'ed. These are actually Hebrew assemblies, or religious gatherings to celebrate specific events in the Jewish calendar. They are:
Verse 5 - THE LORD'S PASSOVER.
Verse 6 - THE FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD.
Verse 10 - FIRSTFRUITS.
Verse 16 - PENTECOST.
Verse 24 - TRUMPETS.
Verse 27 - DAY OF ATONEMENT.
Verse 34 - THE FEAST OF TABERNACLES.
THE FULFILLED PROPHECIES OF THE "FEASTS" OF THE LORD!
Three of these prophetic "feasts" have been fulfilled in the First Coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus is:
John 1:29; 1 Corinthians 5:7 - The Lamb of God, Who takes away the sin of the world; Christ our PASSOVER is sacrificed for us.
John 6:48; Hebrews 4:15 - I am the (UNLEAVENED) BREAD of life; (Jesus was) without sin (leaven = sin).
Matthew 27:52-53; 1 Corinthians 15:20 - Many bodies of the saints which slept arose, and came out of the graves after His resurrection; Now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the FIRSTFRUITS of them that slept.
ONE "FEAST" OF THE LORD IS CURRENTLY BEING FULFILLED!
PENTECOST, the fourth "feast" is currently being fulfilled in what is known as the Church Age. The Feast of Pentecost was the day of the birth of Christ's Church (see Acts 2:1, 47). The feast itself, consisted of the waving of two loaves of leavened bread. The Church is made up of two groups of believers, who still struggle with sin: Jews and Gentiles (see Romans 7:15-25; 1 John 1:8-10).
THE THREE "FEASTS" OF THE LORD YET TO BE FULFILLED!
TRUMPETS: The "Feast" of Trumpets may have two fulfillments. Because "Trumpets" is plural, it is possible that the "last trump" the Church hears as it is caught up to be with the Lord in what is commonly known as the Rapture (see John 14:1-3; 1 Corinthians 15:50-54; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; and John as a type for the Church in Revelation 4:1). The second trumpet of the two, may be the call of God to the dispersed Jews of the world, to return to their homeland: Israel. Following the Rapture of the Church, the Antichrist makes a covenant of peace with Israel, and for three and one half years, the people of Israel are under the delusion that they are safe (see Daniel 9:26-27; Matthew 24:3-14; Revelation Ch. 6-12).
ATONEMENT: It is believed by many Bible students, that Israel's Day of Atonement represents the last half of the seven-year Tribulation; it is a.k.a. The Time of Jacob's Trouble, and Daniel's Seventieth Week (see Jeremiah 30:7; Daniel 9:27).
TABERNACLES: This "Feast of the Lord" will most likely be fulfilled by Christ's 1000 year reign as King of kings here on earth, when He will "tabernacle with His people"; a.k.a. the Millennium (see Exodus 25:8-9; Matthew 25; Revelation 20).
WE ARE NOW IN THE FEAST OF TRUMPETS FOR 2019!
On the Jewish calendar, September 29th through October 1st is the Feast of Trumpets. Wouldn't it be awesome of the Lord came back for His Church today!!!!!!! Awesome for believers, but awful for those who have not accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior!!!!!!! They will remain on earth and hopefully live through what Jesus described it this way:
Matthew 24:21-22 - For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved . . . .
IF YOU HAVE NEVER ACCEPTED THE LORD JESUS CHRIST, TODAY MAY BE YOUR LAST TO DO SO
BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE!
TRUST IN HIM TODAY!
