* Believing that I have been freed from the penalty of sin that was due me, because Jesus Christ paid the penalty for my sin (Rom. 3:23; 5:8; 6:23; Gal. 3:13; 1 Pet. 1:18-19; Rev. 5:9; etc.);
* Believing that I am being freed from the power of sin which is within me, because the Holy Spirit lives within me (Jn. 14:17; Rom. 7:14-25; 1 Jn. 1:8-10; 2:20, 27; 4:4; etc.);
* Believing that eventually, I will be freed from the very presence of sin (2 Cor. 5:21; Heb. 8:12; 10:17; 1 Jn. 3:2; Rev. 20:6; etc.)!
In order for me to be saved from the penalty of sin, the power of sin, and the very presence of sin, I must believe that:
1) God exists and I am accountable to Him (Heb. 11:6; Rev. 20:11-15).
2) God is Holy, and in order to fellowship with Him, I must be holy (Ps. 99:9; 1 Cor. 1:9; 3:17; Heb. 12:14; 1 Jn. 1:3).
3) I am not holy (Lev. 10:10; Rom. 3:9, 23; 5:8; 11:32; Gal. 3:22).
4) Nothing I can do will make me holy (Rom. 3:20, 27; 4:2-3; Gal. 2:16; Eph. 2:9).
5) God has offered His Son's holiness to me (Isa. 53:6; Jn. 1:11-12; 3:14-18; 2 Cor. 5:21).
6) When I humbly accept God's offer, and I trust in Jesus, I become holy (Rom. 5:8; 2 Cor. 5:21).
7) Because I believe in the finished work of Christ on my behalf, His death, His burial, and His resurrection, I am saved (Rom. 1:16; 10:8-17; 1 Cor. 15:1-4)!
Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you too will be saved (Act. 16:30-32)!
