When people are impressed by the Pope and the President, they actually reveal the true nature of our hearts: they respect power! In fact, the Pope is so powerful that nearly two billion people believe his statements are equal to the Scripture, to the Word of God! They believe his words are binding on them, and partly determine where their souls will spend eternity. Pope Francis has publicly stated that the "church" must change its rigid stance on abortion, homosexuality, and how one can go to heaven. The New York Times wrote:
"Six months into his papacy, Pope Francis sent shock waves through the Roman Catholic church on Thursday with the publication of his remarks that the church had grown “obsessed” with abortion, gay marriage and contraception, and that he had chosen not to talk about those issues despite recriminations from critics."
Pope Francis has also stated that one does not have to be a Christian to go to heaven. He stated that even atheists can achieve "salvation" by faithfully following their conscience. In other words, if a person who denies there is a God, never does anything that is wrong in his own eyes, he will spend eternity with the God he says does not exist! The Independent wrote:
"In comments likely to enhance his progressive reputation, Pope Francis has written a long, open letter to the founder of La Repubblica newspaper, Eugenio Scalfari, stating that non-believers would be forgiven by God if they followed their consciences."
The President, at least our present President, has demonstrated he is not bound by the Constitution, and he has stated his "Executive Orders" are the "law of the land." His administration has broken laws that guarantee privacy of communications, has used the I.R.S. to "punish" those who oppose him, has ignored laws regarding illegal immigration, etc. His "instruments of rebellion" have covered-up several instances of criminal and/or unethical behavior, including Benghazi. He has appointed members of the Muslim Brotherhood to high positions in his administration, even though their organization has publicly stated their goal is the annihilation of Jews and Christians. The list goes on and on.
So what do these two have in common? They both ignore the documents that are the basis for their power: The Bible for the Pope, and the Constitution for the President. What does that mean? The world has elected to power those who are by their very nature, LAWLESS! They are a "LAW UNTO THEMSELVES!" They do whatever they want; they do what is right in their own eyes!
The world is excited by men who see themselves as greater than God Himself!
When people call good evil, and evil good, know that the end is near!
Repent and believe in Jesus Christ while there is still time!
