HE IS LORD OR YOU ARE LOST

Many of my brethren object when I say that one must recognize Jesus as his Lord in order to be saved, but the Jesus Who saves, is presented in Scripture as being God (Jn. 1:1, 14); the Christ, the Son of the living God (Mt. 16:16); and the Creator of the Universe (Jn. 1:1-3; Col. 1:16-17; Heb. 1:1-2)!  Even when I quote the Apostle Paul's statement in his letter to the Romans, they balk at it.  And yet, Paul clearly wrote:

"But what saith it? The Word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the Word of faith, which we preach; that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the LORD Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.  For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.  For the Scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on Him shall not be ashamed.  For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same LORD over all is rich unto all that call upon Him.  For whosoever shall call upon the name of the LORD shall be saved" (Rom. 10:8-13).

And if that is not enough to persuade them, I remind them that Jesus accepted the worship of men, a no-no according to Jewish Law.  Here are ten examples:

Matthew 2:11 - "And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary His mother, and fell down, and worshipped Him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto Him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh."
Matthew 8:2 - "And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped Him, saying, Lord, if Thou wilt, Thou canst make me clean."
Matthew 9:18 - "While He spake these things unto them, behold, there came a certain ruler, and worshipped Him, saying, My daughter is even now dead: but come and lay Thy hand upon her, and she shall live."
Matthew 14:33 - "Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped Him, saying, Of a truth Thou art the Son of God."
Matthew 15:25 - "Then came she and worshipped Him, saying, Lord, help me."
Matthew 28:9 - "And as they went to tell His disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held Him by the feet, and worshipped Him."
Mark 5:6 - "But when he saw Jesus afar off, he ran and worshipped Him."
Luke 24:52 - "And they worshipped Him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy."
John 9:38 - "And he said, Lord, I believe. And he worshipped Him."
Revelation 5:14 - "And the four beasts said, Amen.  And the four and twenty elders fell down and worshipped Him that liveth forever and ever."

Finally, I believe John 13:13 makes it quite clear who the Bible says Jesus is:
"Ye call Me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am."
