1 Chronicles 5:20 - "And they were helped against them, and the Hagarites were delivered into their hand, and all that were with them: for they cried to God in the battle, and He was intreated of them; because they put their trust in Him.
Job 13:15 - "Though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him: but I will maintain mine own ways before Him." ["maintain my own ways" = defend myself before God]
Psalm 2:12 - "Kiss the Son, lest He be angry, and ye perish from the way, when His wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in Him." ["Son" - Son of God - Jesus - see Prov. 30:4; Mt. 3:17; Lk. 20:13; Jn. 3:16; 2 Pet. 1:17]
Proverbs 3:5-6 - "Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths." [If He is your Lord, follow Him]
Jeremiah 49:11 - "Leave thy fatherless children, I will preserve them alive; and let thy widows trust in Me." [Conquer, but do not harm the children or widows - they are My responsibility.]
Nahum 1:7 - "The LORD is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and He knoweth them that trust in Him." [God will protect those who belong to Him - the Tribulation - the Time of Jacob's Trouble - Isa. 22:5; 37:3; Jer. 30:7]
2 Corinthians 1:9 - "But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but (trust in) God Who raiseth the dead." [Because all die - Heb. 9:27 - we all need a God Who can raise us from the dead - Jn. 11:25]
1 Timothy 4:10 - "For therefore we both labor and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, Who is the Savior of all men, specially of those that believe." [Believe the Gospel - 1 Cor. 15:3-4 - "For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures; and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures."]
1 Timothy 6:17 - "Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not high-minded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but (trust in) the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy." [The Jews believed that riches were given by God to those who were righteous, and yet, the Old Testament clearly says otherwise - Isa. 41:26; 57:1 - also, see Mt. 19:23-26; Rom. 3:10]
To trust in anyone or anything other than Jesus, is a mistake with eternal consequences!
