IT IS THE VERY LEAST WE CAN DO THAT SAVES US!

MATTHEW 7:17-27 - EVIDENCE OF SALVATION

       . . . every good tree brings forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree brings forth evil fruit.  A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.  Every tree that brings not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.  Wherefore by their fruits you shall know them (and also yourself).  
       Not every one that says unto Me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that does the will of My Father Who is in heaven [Note:  His will is that we accept Jesus as our Lord - see John 6:29].  Many will say to Me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name?  And in Your name have (we not) cast out devils?  And in Your name done many wonderful works?  [Note:  they believed their religious works merited them His acceptance; salvation is a gift from God - see Ephesians 2:8].  And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you:  depart from Me, you who work iniquity [Note:  works that glorify us are filled with pride; works that glorify God are what pleases Him - see Matthew 5:16].  
       Therefore whosoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does (obeys) them, I will liken him unto a wise man, who built his house upon a rock [Note:  the word "rock" here is the same Greek word that is used in Matthew 16:18, which refers to the statement of faith in Jesus which says "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God" - Matthew 16:16; Romans 9:33; 1 Corinthians 10:4]:  and the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not:  for it was founded upon a rock.  And every one that hears these sayings of Mine, and does them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:  and the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell:  and great was the fall of it.

OBEDIENCE IS EVIDENCE OF SALVATION!

Acts 5:29 - Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.

Romans 6:12-13 - Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in the lusts thereof.  Neither yield your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin:  but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.

Galatians 3:1 - O foolish Galatians, who has bewitched you, that you should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ has been evidently set forth, crucified among you?

2 Thessalonians 3:14-15 - And if any man obey not our Word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed.  Yet count him not as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother.

JESUS DIED FOR OUR SINS AND ROSE FROM THE DEAD!

THE VERY LEAST WE CAN DO IS WHAT SAVES US:

WE BELIEVE HE IS LORD!
