IT IS HIS WAY OR THE HIGHWAY!

BELIEVERS IN CHRIST WERE FIRST CALLED PEOPLE OF "THE WAY!"

Matthew 7:13-14 - Enter in at the straight gate:  for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leads to destruction, and many there are that go that way:  but straight is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leads unto life, and few there are who find it.

Acts 9:1-2 - And Saul, yet breathing out threats and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest, and desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem.

Acts 18:25-26 - This man was instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in the spirit, he spake and taught diligently the things of the Lord, knowing only the baptism of John.  And he began to speak boldly in the synagogue: whom when Aquila and Priscilla had heard, they took him unto them, and expounded unto him the way of God more perfectly.

Acts 24:14 - But this I confess unto you, that after the way which they call heresy, so worship I the God of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the Law and in the Prophets.

THE REASON BELIEVERS WERE IDENTIFIED AS SUCH!

John 14:1-6 - Let not your heart be troubled:  you believe in God, believe also in Me.  In My Father's house are many mansions:  if it were not so, I would have told you.  I go to prepare a place for you.  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.  And where I go you know, and the way you know.  Thomas said unto Him, Lord, we know not where You go; and how can we know the way?  JESUS SAID UNTO HIM,  I AM THE WAY, the truth, and the life:  NO MAN COMES UNTO THE FATHER BUT BY ME.

ALL RELIGIONS REQUIRE GOOD WORKS TO GET INTO HEAVEN!

GOD'S WAY IS NOT OF WORKS, BUT IT IS HIS GIFT TO BELIEVERS!

John 6:28-29 - Then said they unto Him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that you believe on Him Whom He has sent.

Acts 16:31 - And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you shall be saved....

Ephesians 2:8-9 - For by grace (unmerited favor) are you saved through faith; and that not of yourselves:  it is the gift of God:  not of works, so that no man can boast.

Titus 3:5-7 - Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy (forgiveness) He saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Spirit; Whom He shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior; that being justified by His grace, we should be made heirs (adopted as God's children) according to the hope of eternal life.

THEREFORE:

Rom. 10:9-17 - If you willingly confess your faith in the Lord Jesus, and you believe with your whole heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved. For with the heart man believes and it is accounted unto him for righteousness (His righteousness, not your own - 2 Cor. 5:21); and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture says, Whosoever believes in Jesus shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the saved Jew and the saved Gentile: for the Lord is rich (in love, mercy, and grace) unto all who call upon Him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.  How then shall they call in Him in Whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of Whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear unless believers share their faith? - - - So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Gospel, the very Word of God.
