THE LOVE OF MONEY VERSES THE LOVE OF GOD!

WEALTH VERSES WORSHIP!

Matthew 6:24No man can serve two masters:  for either he will hate one, and love the other; or else he will hold to one, and despise the other.  You cannot serve God and mammon (the riches of this world)[See also Luke 16:13]

1 Timothy 6:10For the love of money is the root of all evil:  which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

GOD'S WILL CONCERNING THE BELIEVER'S MONEY!

Matthew 5:42 - Give to him that asks of you, and from him that would borrow from you, turn not away.  [See also Luke 6:30]

Matthew 19:16-22 - And, behold, one came and said unto Him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?  And He said unto him, Why do you call Me good?  There is none good but One, that is, God:  but if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments.  He said unto Him, Which?  Jesus said, You shall not murder, You shall not commit adultery, You shall not steal, You shall not bear false witness, Honor your father and your mother:  and, You shall love your neighbor as you love yourself.  The young man said unto Him, All these things have I kept from my youth up:  what lack I yet?  Jesus said unto him, If you want to be perfect, go and sell all that you have, and give the money to the poor, and you shall have treasure in heaven:  and come and follow Me.  But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful:  for he had great possessions.  [See also Mark 10:17-22; Luke 18:18-25]

Acts 2:44-45 - And all that believed were together, and had all things common; and sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need.

Acts 4:32 - 5:11And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul:  neither said any of them that any of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common.  And with great power gave the apostles witness of the Resurrection of the Lord Jesus:  and great grace was upon them all.  Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold, and laid them down at the apostles' feet:  and distribution was made unto every man according as he had need.  And Joses, who by the apostles was surnamed Barnabas, which is, being interpreted, The son of consolation, a Levite, and of the country of Cyprus, having land, sold it, and brought the money, and laid it at the apostles' feet.  But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession, and kept back part of the price, his wife also being privy to it, and brought a certain part, and laid it at the apostles' feet.  But Peter said, Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land?  While it remained yours, was it not your own?  And after it was sold, was the price of it not yours?  Why have you conceived this thing in thine heart?  You have not lied unto men, but unto God.  And Ananias hearing these words fell down and died:  and great fear came on all them that heard these things.  And the young men arose, wrapped his body, and carried him out, and buried him.  And it was about the space of three hours after, when his wife, not knowing what was done, came in.  And Peter answered unto her, Tell me whether you sold the land for so much?  And she said, Yes, that was the price.  Then Peter said unto her, How is it that you have agreed together to tempt the Spirit of the Lord?  Behold, the feet of those who have buried your husband are at the door, and shall also carry you out.  Then, she immediately fell at his feet, and died:  and the young men came in, and found her dead, and, carrying her forth, buried her by her husband.  And great fear came upon all the church, and upon as many as heard these things.

1 Corinthians 13:1-3 - Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not love, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.  And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not love, I am nothing.  And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not love, it profits me nothing.

2 Corinthians 9:7 - Every man according as he purposes in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity:  for God loves a cheerful giver.

Ephesians 4:28Let him that stole steal no more:  but rather let him labor, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him who is in need.

HOW ONE USES HIS MONEY REVEALS WHERE HIS HEART IS!

Matthew 25:31-46When the Son of man shall come in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then shall He sit upon the throne of His glory:  and before Him shall be gathered all nations:  and He shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats:  and He shall set the sheep at His right hand, but the goats on His left.  Then shall the King say unto those at His right hand, Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:  for I was an hungry, and you fed Me:  I was thirsty, and you gave me drink:  I was a stranger, and you took Me in:  I was naked, and you clothed Me:  I was sick, and you visited Me:  I was in prison, and you came unto Me.  Then shall the righteous answer Him, saying, Lord, when did we see You hungry, and fed You?  Or thirsty, and we gave you drink?  When did we see You a stranger, and took You in?  Or naked, and we clothed You?  Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and we came unto You?  And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as you have done it unto one of the least of these My brethren, you have done it unto Me.  Then shall he say also unto those on Hid left, Depart from Me, you cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:  for I was hungry, and you gave Me no food:  I was thirsty, and you gave Me no drink:  I was a stranger, and you did not take Me in:  naked, and you gave Me no clothing:  sick, and in prison, and you did not visit Me.  Then shall they also answer Him, saying, Lord, when did we see You hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto You?  Then shall He answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, My brethren, you did it not to Me.  And these shall go away into everlasting punishment:  but the righteous into life eternal.

[All Scripture is based upon the King James Version, as I understand it.]

SALVATION IS A GIFT FROM GOD TO THOSE WHO BELIEVE IN JESUS!

THOSE WHO BELIEVE IN JESUS OUGHT TO GIVE TO THOSE IN NEED!
