REPENTANCE AND REMISSION: TWO SIDES OF THE SAME COIN!

THE MESSAGE THE CHURCH IS TO PROCLAIM!

Luke 24:45-47 - Then opened He their understanding, that they might understand the Scriptures, and said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behooved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:  and that REPENTANCE AND REMISSION OF SINS should be preached in His name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

REPENTANCE!
[A change of one's mind upon accepting the Gospel as truth.]

Mark 2:16-17 And when the scribes and Pharisees saw Him eat with publicans and sinners, they said unto His disciples, How is it that He eats and drinks with publicans and sinners?  When Jesus heard it, He said unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to REPENTANCE.

Acts 5:30-31 - The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, Whom you slew and hanged on a tree.  Him has God exalted with His right hand to be a Prince (waiting to become Israel's King - Rev. 19:16) and a Savior, for to give REPENTANCE to Israel, and forgiveness of sins (REMISSION).

Acts 11:17-18 - Forasmuch then as God gave them (Gentiles) the like gift as He did unto us, who believed on the Lord Jesus Christ; what was I, that I could withstand God?  When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then has God also to the Gentiles granted REPENTANCE unto life.

Acts 20:20-21And how I (Paul) kept back nothing that was profitable unto you, but have showed you, and have taught you publicly, and from house to house, testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, REPENTANCE toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.

2 Corinthians 7:10 - For godly sorrow works REPENTANCE to salvation not to be repented of:  but the sorrow of the world works death.

Hebrews 6:1Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of REPENTANCE from dead works, and of faith toward God....

2 Peter 3:9The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is long suffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to  REPENTANCE.

REMISSION OF SINS!
[Payment in full of a debt owed; the forgiveness of sins.]

Matthew 26:28For this is My blood of the new testament (covenant), which is shed for many for the  REMISSION OF SINS (forgiveness of sins).

Acts 2:38-39Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the REMISSION OF SINS, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.  For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

Acts 10:42-43And He commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is He Who was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick (living) and dead.  To Him give all the prophets witness, that through His name whosoever believes in Him shall receive REMISSION OF SINS.

Romans 3:24-26 - Being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:  Whom God has set forth to be a propitiation (the total satisfaction of a debt owed) through faith in His blood, to declare His righteousness for the REMISSION OF SINS that are past, through the forbearance of God; to declare, I say, at this time His righteousness:  that He might be just, and the Justifier of him who believes in Jesus.

Hebrews 10:18-20This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says the Lord, I will put My laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; and their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.  Now where REMISSION OF SINS is, there is no more offering for sin.
