AI, CONSTANTINOPLE, AND 911

All three monotheistic religions have a history of "fighting holy wars."  The Old Testament's Jewish invaders, the New Testament's "Christian" crusaders, and the Qur'an's Islamic terrorists, all declared war on those of differing religious beliefs.  What the world is experiencing today is not new; there have been religious wars for nearly the entire human history.  911 was horrible.  Islamic terrorism is barbaric.  The main problem, as I see it, is Muslim hypocrisy, for while they declare their outrage as the past actions of Jews and "Christians," Islamic terrorists have chosen to champion the very same behavior today.

The Jewish Conquest of the Promised Land (Joshua 7) Because of sin in the camp, Israel, led by Joshua, was not given victory in its attempt to conquer the city of Ai.  Ironically, they had defeated Jericho "without firing a shot."  When they used weapons, they were defeated.

The Roman Catholic Crusades (1095-1291) were a series of campaigns into the Middle East, fought during the middle ages. They were the military responses made by Rome from western Europe to the Pope's pleas to re-capture Constantinople and the Holy Land from Islamic influence.

Islamic Terrorism:  Islam is anything but a religion of peace. Violence is at the very core of Islam. Violence is institutionalized in their holy book, the Qur'an, in many suras:  8:39, 65; 9:5, 38; 112; 47:4; etc.

Based upon Bible prophecy, it appears that humanity is doomed to continue fighting over religion until Jesus returns to establish His government; it will be a Theocracy, that is, a government ruled by God.  Until then, all man can do is pray for those whose hearts are bent on using military power to create a one-world government.  We cannot stop it, but as "salt" and "light," we can sure slow it down.  While it is still possible, pray and witness for Jesus Christ, our soon coming Lord!

As we remember 911, let us pray for those effected and those who celebrated it.
