BE CAREFUL HOW YOU TREAT THE JEWS!

As born again believers, we should have a great love for the Jewish people.  The reason is quite simple:  born again believers are indwelt by the Holy Spirit, the very mind of Christ (1 Cor. 2:16).  In other words, we should love all that God loves, and abhor what He abhors.  That being said, because of what the Bible teaches I am absolutely convinced of the following:

*       The Jews are God's chosen people: "For thou (Israel) art an holy people unto the LORD thy God; the LORD thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto Himself, above all the peoples who are upon the face of the earth" (Deut. 7:6).

*       God used the Jewish people in a special way to give mankind the Bible. He used men such as Moses, David, Solomon, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Matthew, John, James, Peter, etc., to be His special penmen (2 Tim. 3:16; 2 Pet. 1:21).

*       In fact, it was to the Jewish people that God gave His holy laws, His very will for mankind, which are a reflection of God's holy and absolute standards. All who disregard these laws will answer to God (Rev. 20:11-15).

*       Israel has divine rights to the land of Israel (Eretz Yisrael) because God Himself promised this land to Israel in the covenant which He made (cut) with Israel: "Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates" (Gen. 15:18). Because of this we should fully support the nation Israel in their rightful claim of the land of Israel as their homeland.

*       God has a wonderful future for the Jewish people (Rom. 11:25-26). This also involves the fulfillment of all of the kingdom promises found in the writings of the Hebrew prophets (such as found in Isa. 2:1-5; .9:6-7; .11:1-16; Jer. 23:5-8; all of chapter 31, etc.). I am convinced that the day is coming when Israel shall dwell safely in the land to enjoy a peace and prosperity such as the nation has never had. Indeed, according to the prophets, Jerusalem will be the capital of the world and Israel will be the pride of every nation (Mic. 4:1-2; Zech. 8:22-23).

*       The treatment of Israel by other nations, determines how Almighty God will deal with them (Mt. 25:31-46).  And in Genesis 12:1-3, we read:

"Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee:  and I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:  and I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed."
