WHAT DOES THE BIBLE MEAN BY SAVED?
(THE WORD OF GOD AS I UNDERSTAND IT)
John 3:14-18; 35-36 - And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man (what Jesus called Himself when identifying with humanity - He had a human mother and was the descendent of King David) be lifted up: that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that He gave His Only Begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through (faith in) Him might be saved. All who believe in Him will not be condemned: but all who do not believe (in Him) are condemned already, because they have not believed in the name of the Only Begotten Son of God (how Jesus referred to Himself when He was identifying with His Father). - - - The Father loves the Son, and has given all things into His hand. He who believes in the Son has everlasting life: but he who does not believe in the Son shall not see (eternal; everlasting) life; but the wrath of God abides on him.Romans 1:16-19 - For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ (see 1 Corinthians 15:1-6): for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one who believes; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek (non-Jews; Gentiles). For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith. For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God has showed it unto them.
Romans 5:8-9 - But God commended (demonstrated) His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.
Ephesians 5:1-6 - Be followers of God, as dear children; and walk in love, as Christ also has loved us, and has given Himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling savor. But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be named among you, as the Lord's saints; neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient (productive): but rather be known for giving of thanks. For you know that no whore-monger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things the wrath of God is coming upon the children of disobedience.
1 Thessalonians 1:9-10; 5:9-10 - For they themselves told us . . . how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God; and to wait for His Son from heaven, Whom He raised from the dead, even Jesus, Who delivered us from the wrath to come. - - - For God has not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by (faith in) our Lord Jesus Christ, Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep (are alive or have already died), we should live together with Him.
Revelation 6:15-17 - And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; and said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of Him that is seated on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: for the great day of His wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?
Revelation 11:18-19 - And the nations were angry, and God's wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that You shall give rewards unto Your servants the prophets, and to the saints, and those who fear Your name, small and great; and shall destroy those who destroy the earth. And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in His temple the Ark of His Testament (Covenant): and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunder, and an earthquake, and great hail.
Revelation 14:9-10;18-20 - And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, the same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of His indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: - - - And another angel came out from the altar, which had power over fire; and cried with a loud cry to him that had the sharp sickle, saying, Thrust in thy sharp sickle, and gather the clusters of the vine of the earth; for her grapes are fully ripe. And the angel thrust in his sickle into the earth, and gathered the vine of the earth, and cast it into the great winepress of the wrath of God. And the winepress was trodden without the city, and blood came out of the winepress, even unto the horse bridles, by the space of a thousand and six hundred furlongs.
ALL OF US HAVE SINNED!
GOD'S JUDGMENT FOR SINNERS IS DEATH!
BUT GOD LOVED SINNERS, AND SENT
HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON TO DIE IN OUR PLACE!
ALL WHO PLACE THEIR FAITH IN JESUS
SHALL BE SAVED FROM THE WRATH TO COME!
