THE WORK OF GOD IN OUR SALVATION!
[All Scripture is based upon my understanding of the K.J.V.]
John 3:16-17 - For God so loved humanity, that He sacrificed His Only Begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Jesus shall not perish, but shall have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world, through faith in Him, can be saved.
Romans 5:8-9 - God demonstrated His love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by His blood, we shall be saved from God's wrath through faith in Him.
1 Corinthians 15:1-4 - Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the Gospel (the message which has the power to save those who believe it - see Romans 1:16) which I preached unto you, which also you have received, and wherein you stand; by which also you are saved . . . . For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures; and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures....
2 Corinthians 5:20 - For the Father has made Jesus to become sin for us, even though He Himself never sinned (see Hebrews 4:15), so that we might be made the righteousness of God by faith in Him.
SALVATION IS A FREE GIFT FROM GOD;
IT IS NOT THE RESULT OF OUR WORKS!
John 6:28-29 - Then they said unto Jesus, What shall we do, that we might work and gain God's favor? Jesus answering, said unto them, This is the work God requires of you: believe on Me, the one whom He has sent.
Romans 3:24, 27 - If we are freely justified (declared accepted by God) by His grace (God's unmerited favor) through the finished work done for us by Christ Jesus . . . . where is boasting then? There can be none. Is salvation earned by our obeying the Law? Is it by our religious works? God forbid! It is totally by our faith in what Christ has done.
Ephesians 2:8-9 - For it is by grace (God's unmerited favor) that you are saved through faith; it is not something you can earn: it is a gift from God: it is not of the result of religious works, so that no one can boast.
RELIGION IS THE GREATEST HINDRANCE
TO THE SALVATION OF THE LOST SOUL!
BELIEVE THE GOSPEL AND BE SAVED!
