WHAT MUST I DO TO BE SAVED? BELIEVE!

THE PURPOSE OF THE LAW OF MOSES!

Romans 3:19-23 - Now we know that whatsoever things the Law says, it says to those who are under the Law:  that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may be declared guilty before God.  Therefore, by the deeds of the Law, no one can be claim to be righteous in His sight:  for by the Law, we are made aware of our sin.  But now, the righteousness of God, apart from the Law is manifested, being verified by the Law and the Prophets; even the righteousness of God which is by faith in Jesus Christ, and is given unto all who believe:  for there is no difference who they are:  all have sinned, and come short of God's standard of holiness.

Galatians 3:21-26 - Is the Law then against the promises of God?  God forbid:  for if there had been a law given which could have given eternal life, then righteousness could have been earned by obedience to the Law.  But the Scripture has revealed all of us are sinners, and that the promises are attained by faith in Jesus Christ, and are given to all those who believe.  But before our faith came, we were kept under the Law, ignorant of the faith in Christ which would later be revealed.  So the Law was our school master to reveal our need for Christ, that we might be righteous by faith.  But after we have attained faith, we are no longer under a school master.  For we are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.

SALVATION IS BY HIS MERCY AND GRACE!

Ephesians 2:4-9 - But God, Who is rich in mercy*, because of  His great love with which He loved us, even when we were spiritually dead in our sins, He has made us spiritually alive together with Christ, and has raised us up together, and qualified us to sit in heavenly places because of our faith in Christ Jesus:  so that in the ages to come, He might reveal the exceeding riches of His grace** in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.  For by grace** we are saved through faith; and that not of our own doing:  it is the gift of God:  not by religious works, so that no man can boast.

Notes:

* Mercy - Because of the love of God, He longs to pardon and forgive us; He does not give us what we deserve!

** Grace - Because of the love of God, He gave His Only Begotten Son, so that He can give all who believe in Him, eternal life; He gives us what we do not deserve!
