JESUS AND THE HOLY SPIRIT

Jesus was begotten by the Holy Spirit

Luke 1:35 - "And the angel answered and said unto her, 'The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that (Holy One) which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.'"

Jesus was filled with the Holy Spirit

Luke 4:1 - "And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness."
John 3:34 - "For He whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto Him."

Jesus was led by the Holy Spirit

Isaiah 12:2 - "And the Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon Him, the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD."
Isaiah 42:1 - "Behold My Servant, Whom I uphold; Mine Elect, in Whom My soul delighteth; I have put My Spirit upon Him: He shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles."
Luke 4:17-21 - "And there was delivered unto Him the Book of...Isaiah. And when He had opened the book, He found the place where it was written, 'The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He hath anointed Me to preach the Gospel to the poor; He hath sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, to preach the acceptable year of the Lord.'  And He closed the book, and He gave it again to the minister, and sat down.  And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on Him.  And He began to say unto them, 'This day is this Scripture fulfilled in your ears.'"
Acts 1:2 - "Until the day in which He was taken up, after that He through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom He had chosen."

Jesus was empowered by the Holy Spirit

Luke 4:13-14 - "And when the devil had ended all the temptation, he departed from Him for a season.  And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of Him through all the region round about."
Acts 10:38 - "How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: Who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with Him."
Matthew 12:28 - "...I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, (therefore) the kingdom of God is come unto you."

Jesus, as fully man, needed the Holy Spirit

Philippians 2:7-8 - "(Jesus) made Himself of no reputation, and took upon Him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:  and being found in fashion as a man, He humbled Himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross."

Romans 8:11 - "But if the Spirit of Him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, He that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by His Spirit that dwelleth in you."

We, too, need to be born of, filled by, and led by the Holy Spirit!
