THE SPIRIT'S ROLE IN SALVATION!

THE HOLY SPIRIT IN THE NEW BIRTH!

John 3:1-8
       There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews, who came to Jesus by night, and said unto Him, Rabbi, we know that You are a teacher come from God:  for no man can do these miracles that You do, except God be with him.
       Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
       Nicodemus said unto Him, How can a man be born when he is old?  Can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?
       Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a man be born of water (physical birth) and of the Spirit (spiritual birth), he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.  That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.  Marvel not that I said unto you, You must be born again.  The wind blows where it listeth (wants to; desires), and you hear the sound thereof, but can not tell from where it comes, and where it goes:  so is every one that is born of the Spirit.

1 Peter 1:23-25
Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the Word of God, which lives and abides forever.  For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass.  The grass withers, and the flower thereof falls away:  but the Word of the Lord endures forever.  And this is the Word which by the Gospel is preached unto you.

Romans 10:8-13, 17
But what does it say?  The Word is near you, even in your mouth, and in your heart:  that is, the Word of faith (the Gospel), which we preach; that IF you confess with your mouth (your faith in) the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved.  For with the heart man believes unto righteousness;* and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.  For the Scripture says, Whosoever believes in Him shall not be ashamed.  For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek (Gentile; non-Jew):  for the same Lord over all is rich** unto all who call upon Him.  For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. . . . So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.

Notes:  * The believer is given Christ's righteousness - 2 Cor. 5:21.
             ** The Lord is rich in mercy, pardoning our sins - Eph. 4:32
                  He is rich in grace, adopting us as His children - Rom. 8:15.

JESUS DIED FOR OUR SINS,
HE WAS BURIED, AND
HE ROSE AGAIN THE THIRD DAY,
ACCORDING TO THE SCRIPTURES!

TRUST HIM AS LORD OF YOUR LIFE;
THANK HIM FOR BEING YOUR SAVIOR;
TELL HIS STORY TO EVERYONE!
