THE TRIBULATION IS A JEWISH EVENT!

THE JEWS ARE THE FOCUS OF THE TRIBULATION!

Daniel 9:24-27Seventy weeks* are determined upon thy people (Israel) and upon thy holy city (Jerusalem), to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy (Israel's Messiah).  Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks,* and threescore and two weeks:* the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.  And after threescore and two weeks* shall Messiah be cut off (killed; crucified), but not for Himself: and the people (Romans) of the prince (antichrist) that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary (Rome fulfilled this in A.D. 70); and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.  And he (antichrist) shall confirm the covenant with many for one week:* and in the midst of the week* he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

Notes:  Week* is the Hebrew shabuwa meaning a heptad or group of seven, and here, it is seven years.  We know this because the seventieth week is divided in half; each half is said to be 1260 days (Rev. 11:3; 12:6); 42 months (Rev. 11:2; 13:5); a time, times, and a half time, with a time being one year (Dan. 7:25; 12:7; Rev. 12:14).  Daniel writes of three periods of time made up of heptads:  seven heptads (49 years to rebuild the wall and the temple); sixty-two heptads (434 years until the Christ would be crucified); and Daniel's Seventieth Week (7 years), also known as the Time of Jacob's Trouble (Jer. 30:7), and the Tribulation (Mt. 24:3-29)

MORE EVIDENCE FROM MATTHEW TWENTY-FOUR!

Matthew 24:1-29 (selected verses)

Verse 5 For many shall come in My name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.  (At that time, Israel will still be looking for their Messiah or Christ).

Verses 6-7 - And ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars:  see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.  For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places(These events all happen outside of Israel, as they are experiencing peace for three and a half years).

Verse 9 - Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you:  and ye shall be hated of all nations for My name's sake.  (Mk. 13:9; Lk. 21:12 both say that believers, those saved following the Rapture of the Church, will be delivered up to be judged in the synagogues).

Verses 15-16 - When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand): then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains....  (Dan 9:27; 12:11; Rev. 13:5-6 The Abomination of desolation can only take place in the Jewish Temple).

Verse 20 - But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the Sabbath day....  (Only the Jews concern themselves with the sanctity of the Sabbath).

Verse 23 - Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not.  (Even while in hiding for the last half of the Tribulation, Israel will still be looking for their Messiah - see Rev. 12:14).

WHY IS THE CHURCH NOT MENTIONED?

1.  The Tribulation is appointed for Daniel's people, Israel.
2.  The Church is not appointed to wrath - 1 Th. 1:9-10; 5:9-10.
3.  Jesus described the Rapture of the Church to comfort us - Jn. 14:1-3; 1 Cor. 15:50-54; and         1 Th. 4:13-18.
4.  Because we understand that the first four Feasts of the Lord were literally fulfilled with Christ's death, burial, resurrection, and the birth of the Church (Passover - 1 Cor. 5:7; Unleavened Bread - Jn. 6:37; 1 Cor. 11:23-24; Firstfruits - 1 Cor. 15:20; and Pentecost - Acts 2:1), it is clear to us that the literal fulfillment of the last three feasts (Trumpets; Atonement; and Tabernacles) will be connected with His Second Coming - Rev. 19:11-16).
5.  The Church is not mentioned in the chapters of Revelation that describe the Tribulation (6 - 19),
