RELIGIOUS WORKS CANNOT SAVE YOU!
SALVATION IS A GIFT FROM GOD!
Ephesians 2:8-9 - For by grace (unearned, unmerited favor) are you saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast.
2 Timothy 1:8-9 - Be not . . . ashamed of the testimony of our Lord . . . but you be a partaker of the afflictions of the Gospel according to the power of God; Who has saved us, and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began.
Titus 3:5 - Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us....
SINCE SALVATION IS A GIFT,
WHAT SHOULD BELIEVERS BE?
2 Chronicles 7:14 - If My people, who are called by My name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
Proverbs 15:33 - The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom; and before honor is humility.
Isaiah 57:15 - For thus says the high and lofty One that inhabits eternity, Whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.
Micah 6:8 - He has shown you, O man, what is good; and what does the LORD require of you, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?
Matthew 18:4 - Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
Matthew 23:12 - And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.
2 Corinthians 5:21 - For He (our heavenly Father) has made him (Jesus, His Only Begotten Son) to be sin for us, Who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.
Philippians 2:5-8 - Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: but made Himself of no reputation, and took upon Him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: and being found in fashion as a man, He humbled Himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
James 4:6-10 - But He gives more grace. Wherefore He says, God resists the proud, but gives grace unto the humble. Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and He will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double minded. Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He shall lift you up.
1 Peter 5:5-6 - Likewise, you younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yes, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resists the proud, and gives grace to the humble. Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time.
THE LOST ARE SELF-RIGHTEOUS AND PROUD!
THE SAVED HAVE HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS,
AND ARE HUMBLE!
