THE ANTICHRIST AND THE COVENANT!

DANIEL 9:27 

 THE COVENANT WILL BE HONORED FOR ONLY 

ONE HALF OF THE SEVEN -YEAR PEACE TREATY WITH ISRAEL!

Daniel 9:24-27 - Seventy weeks (seventy "weeks" of years, or 490 years) are determined upon thy people (Israel) and upon thy holy city (Jerusalem). . . . Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment (the seventh year of Artaxerxes - Ezra 7:8-12) to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks (seven "weeks" of years, or 49 years), and threescore and two weeks (plus sixty-two "weeks" of years, or 434 years for a total of 483 years): the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.  And after threescore and two weeks (after the 483 years) shall Messiah be cut off, but not for Himself (Jesus was sinless and died for the sins of mankind - Hebrews 4:15; 1 Corinthians 15:3; 2 Corinthians 5:21):  and the people of the prince that shall come (the Antichrist; a.k.a. the "first beast" - 1 John 2:18, 22; Revelation 13:1-10) shall destroy the city and the sanctuary (History records that Rome destroyed Jerusalem and the Temple in A.D. 70) . . . . And he shall confirm the covenant* with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

*  the covenant - I believe "the covenant" refers to the United Nations declaration that Israel belongs to the Jews - 

On the 29th November, 1947, the United Nations General Assembly passed a resolution calling for the establishment of a Jewish State in Eretz-Israel; the General Assembly required the inhabitants of Eretz-Israel to take such steps as were necessary on their part for the implementation of that resolution. This recognition by the United Nations of the right of the Jewish people to establish their State is irrevocable. This right is the natural right of the Jewish people to be masters of their own fate, like all other nations, in their own sovereign State.

ACCORDINGLY WE, MEMBERS OF THE PEOPLE'S COUNCIL, REPRESENTATIVES OF THE JEWISH COMMUNITY OF ERETZ-ISRAEL AND OF THE ZIONIST MOVEMENT, ARE HERE ASSEMBLED ON THE DAY OF THE TERMINATION OF THE BRITISH MANDATE OVER ERETZ-ISRAEL AND, BY VIRTUE OF OUR NATURAL AND HISTORIC RIGHT AND ON THE STRENGTH OF THE RESOLUTION OF THE UNITED NATIONS GENERAL ASSEMBLY, HEREBY DECLARE THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A JEWISH STATE IN ERETZ-ISRAEL, TO BE KNOWN AS THE STATE OF ISRAEL.

WE DECLARE that, with effect from the moment of the termination of the Mandate being tonight, the eve of Sabbath, the 6th Iyar, 5708 (15th May, 1948), until the establishment of the elected, regular authorities of the State in accordance with the Constitution which shall be adopted by the Elected Constituent Assembly not later than the 1st October 1948, the People's Council shall act as a Provisional Council of State, and its executive organ, the People's Administration, shall be the Provisional Government of the Jewish State, to be called "Israel."

The Church will be caught up to heaven (John 14:1-3; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Revelation 4:1).  Then, the Antichrist convinces the nations of the world to form a one-world government, with him as its leader (Revelation 13:1-10).  Notice that between Revelation Chapters 6 - 19, there is no mention of the Church!  The Antichrist's focus will be upon the Nation of Israel (Daniel 9:27; Matthew 24:3-28; Revelation Chapters 6 - 19).  Christians will be spared the horrible events of the Tribulation (John 14:1-3; 1 Thessalonians 1:10; 5:9; Revelation 4:1).
