A Blood-Moon Tetrad is a series of four total eclipses occurring over a two year period of time (called Blood Moons due to the reddish hue of the shadowed moon). Since Israel's War of Independence (1947-1949), there have been three Blood-Moon Tetrads, and all three have occurred while Israel was at war. What makes them especially significant, is that the eclipses occur on Israel's Feasts of Passover and Tabernacles for two successive years. The first of the three occurred on Passover, April 13, 1949; Tabernacles, October 7, 1949; Passover, April 2, 1950; and Tabernacles, September 26, 1950!
The second Blood-Moon Tetrad occurred on Passover, April 24, 1967; October 18, 1967; April 13, 1968; and October 6, 1968. During that Blood-Moon Tetrad, Israel was involved in the "Six Day War" (June 5th - June 10th) with Egypt, Syria, and Jordon. In addition to these, other Arab countries played smaller roles in the conflict. The war only lasted six days, because that is all it took for Israel to destroy the military might of their enemies.
The current Blood-Moon Tetrad began on Passover of this year (April 15th), and will continue this coming Feast of Tabernacles (October 8th), next Passover (April 4th), and will be completed with the Feast of Tabernacles of A.D. 2015 (September 28th). As I wrote above, Israel is currently at war with Hamas, which is backed by several Arab nations.
Many sincere Christians have been critical of Mark Biltz's (first to discover a relationship between the Blood-Moons, the Jewish Feasts, and Israel at war) belief that the Tetrads are signs from God. Why? I am not sure. It seems to me that if there have only been three since Israel became a nation; and all three have occurred on same, specific Jewish holidays; and Israel has been at war during all three; it is at least noteworthy! In addition, in the first, Israel gained land; in the second, Israel gained Jerusalem; and while we do not yet know this will happen, many believe that during the third, Israel will gain the Temple Mount.
Stay tuned! God is obviously at work doing something important!
