WHEN SOMEONE ACCUSES YOU OF BEING A CHRISTIAN, DO YOU PLEAD GUILTY?
Matthew 10:32-33 - Whosoever therefore shall confess (acknowledge) Me before men, him will I confess (acknowledge) before My Father Who is in heaven. But whosoever shall deny (reject) Me before men, him will I also deny (reject) before My Father Who is in heaven.
Luke 12:8-9 - Also I say unto you, Whosoever shall confess (acknowledge) Me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess (acknowledge) before the angels of God: but he that denies (rejects) Me before men shall be denied (rejected) before the angels of God.
John 9:19-23 - And they asked them, saying, Is this your son, who you say was born blind? How then does he now see? His parents answered them and said, We know that this is our son, and that he was born blind: but by what means he now sees, we know not; or who has opened his eyes, we know not: he is of age; ask him: he shall speak for himself. These words spoke his parents, because they feared the Jews: for the Jews had agreed already, that if any man did confess (acknowledge) that He was Christ, he should be put out of the synagogue. Therefore his parents said, He is of age; ask him.
John 12:37, 42-43 - But though He had done so many miracles before them, yet they believed not on Him: - - - Nevertheless among the chief rulers, many believed on Him; but because of the Pharisees, they did not confess (acknowledge) Him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue: for they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.
Acts 23:6-8 - But when Paul perceived that the one part were Sadducees, and the other Pharisees, he cried out in the council, Men and brethren, I am a Pharisee, the son of a Pharisee: of the hope and resurrection of the dead I am called in question. And when he had so said, there arose a dissension between the Pharisees and the Sadducees: and the multitude was divided. For the Sadducees say that there is no resurrection, neither angel, nor spirit: but the Pharisees confess (acknowledge, believe in) both.
Acts 24:13-14 - Neither can they prove the things whereof they now accuse me. But this I confess unto you, that after The Way* which they call heresy, so worship I the God of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the Law and in the Prophets.
[Note: "The Way" was an early name for Christians, who believed Jesus when He said, "I AM The Way...." (John 14:6; See also Acts 18:25-26). Believers were first called Christians in Antioch (Acts 11:26).]
Romans 10:9-13 - . . . if you shall confess with your mouth (your faith in) the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved. For with the heart man believes unto righteousness (is declared righteous by God); and with the mouth confession (acknowledge having faith in the Lord Jesus) is made unto salvation. For the Scripture says, Whosoever believes on Him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek (Gentile): for the same Lord, (Who is) over all is rich unto all who call upon Him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Romans 15:8-9 - Now I say that Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision (the Jews) for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made unto the fathers: and that the Gentiles might glorify God for His mercy; as it is written, For this cause I will confess to Thee (acknowledge my faith in You) among the Gentiles, and sing unto Your name.
Philippians 2:5-11 - Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: but made Himself of no reputation, and took upon Himself the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: and being found in fashion as a man, He humbled Himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Wherefore God (The Father) also has highly exalted Him, and given Him a name which is above every name: that at the name of Jesus, every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; and that every tongue should confess (acknowledge) that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Hebrews 11:13-14 - These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed (acknowledged) that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country.
1 John 4:1-3, 15 - Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. Hereby know you (this is how you know) the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses (acknowledges) that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: and every spirit that confesses not (does not acknowledge) that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of Antichrist, whereof you have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. - - - Whosoever shall confess (acknowledge) that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwells in him, and he in God.
2 John 1:7 - For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not (do not acknowledge) that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an Antichrist.
Revelation 3:5 - He that overcomes,* the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of The Book of Life, but I will confess (acknowledge, declare) his name before My Father, and before His angels.
[Note: "Overcomes" speaks of overcoming the influences of the world. 1 John 5:4 - For whatsoever is born of God overcomes the world: and this is the victory that overcomes the world, even our faith.]
