THE RELATIONSHIP OF SALVATION AND RELIGIOUS WORKS!

ALL HAVE SINNED, AND
ARE DESERVING OF DEATH!

Romans 3:23 - For all have sinned, and come short of the glory (the perfection; the holiness; the righteousness) of God.

Romans 5:12 - Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for all have sinned.

Revelation 21:8 - But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whore-mongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone:  which is the second death.

RELIGIOUS WORKS CANNOT SAVE A SINNER;

ONLY FAITH IN CHRIST'S FINISHED WORK CAN!

Romans 6:23 - For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Galatians 2:16 - Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the Law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the Law:  for by the works of the Law shall no flesh be justified.

Ephesians 2:8-9 - For by grace are you saved through faith; and that not of yourselves:  it is the gift of God:  not of works, lest any man should boast.

2 Timothy 1:9 - Who (God) has saved us, and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began.  [Note:  This is based upon His foreknowledge of who would accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior (see Romans 8:29).]

Titus 3:5 - Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us....

GOD'S CHILDREN DO GOOD WORKS FOR HIM;

THEY ARE EVIDENCE OF GENUINE FAITH!

Matthew 5:16 - Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father Who is in heaven.  [Note:  Because God is your Father, you do good works, and He is honored by them!] 

John 6:28-29 - Then said they unto Him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?  Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that you believe on Him (Me) Whom He (My Father) has sent.

Acts 26:20 - But showed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for (that are evidence of) repentance.

Ephesians 2:10 - For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God has before ordained that we should walk in them.

Philippians 1:6; 2:13 - Being confident of this very thing, that He Who has begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ - - - For it is God Who works in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure.

Titus 2:14 - Who (Jesus) gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto Himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

Titus 3:8 - This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.

James 2:18 - Yes, a man may say, You have faith, and I have works:  show me your faith without your works (which cannot be done), and I will show you my faith by my works.

WE LOVE GOD BECAUSE HE FIRST LOVED US!
