ACCORDING TO GOD'S WORD, ALL MEN MUST DIE!

ALL MEN WILL DIE!

Romans 5:12 - Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned....
Hebrews 9:27-28 - And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:  so Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for Him shall He appear the second time without sin unto salvation.

BUT WAIT, THERE ARE EXCEPTIONS, RIGHT?

ENOCH DID NOT DIE - - - YET!

Genesis 5:23-24 - And all the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty and five years:  and Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.

Hebrews 11:5 - By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.

ELIJAH DID NOT DIE - - - YET!

2 Kings 2:11 - And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.

Malachi 4:5-6 - Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD:  and he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.

WHAT ABOUT THOSE WHO ARE PART OF THE RAPTURE?

John 14:1-3 - Let not your heart be troubled:  ye believe in God, believe also in Me.  In My Father's house are many mansions:  if it were not so, I would have told you.  I go to prepare a place for you.  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto Myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 - For the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:  then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

I BELIEVE ALL OF THE "EXEMPTIONS" WILL DIE AS WELL!

ENOCH AND ELIJAH

Revelation 11:3-12 tells us that there shall be two witnesses for Christ during the Tribulation, and that they shall be killed.  We have already seen that Elijah will return in Malachi 4:5-6 above.  Because God's Word cannot contradict itself, and that it says ALL men must die, I believe the two witnesses will be Enoch and Elijah.

BELIEVERS LIVING AT THE TIME OF THE RAPTURE

1 Corinthians 15:50-55 - Now this I say, brethren, that FLESH AND BLOOD CANNOT INHERIT THE KINGDOM OF GOD; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.  Behold, I show you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.  For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.  So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, DEATH IS SWALLOWED UP IN VICTORY.  O death, where is thy sting?  O grave, where is thy victory?

It is my belief that living born again believers will literally die and be resurrected in an instant; in the time it takes for light to reflect off of one's eye!  Light travels at 186,000 miles per second, so we will not even have time to be aware of our own death and resurrection!  As a result, we will ask the question, O death, where is thy sting!
