THE ANGEL OF THE LORD; MELCHIZEDEK; AND THE CHRIST!

THE ANGEL OF THE LORD

Genesis 16:10 - And the Angel of the LORD said unto her [Hagar], I will multiply thy seed exceedingly, that it shall not be numbered for multitude.

Genesis 22:11-12 - And the Angel of the LORD called unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here am I.  And He said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou anything unto him:  for now I know that you fear God, seeing you have not withheld thy son, thine only son from Me.

Exodus 3:2, 6 - And the Angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush:  and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed. - - - Moreover He said, I AM the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God.

Judges 2:1 - And (the) Angel of the LORD [See v. 4] came up from Gilgal to Bochim, and said, I made you to go up out of Egypt, and have brought you unto the land which I swore unto your fathers; and I said, I will never break My covenant with you.

MELCHIZEDEK

Genesis 14:18-20 - And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and He was the priest of the most high God.  And He blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram of the most high God, possessor of heaven and earth:  And blessed be the most high God, Who has delivered thine enemies into thy hand.  And (Abram) gave (Melchizedek) tithes of all.  [See Lev. 27:30 - The tithe...is the LORD'S....]

Psalm 110:1-4 - The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit Thou at My right hand, until I make Thine enemies Thy footstool.  The LORD shall send the rod of Thy strength out of Zion:  rule Thou in the midst of Thine enemies.  Thy people shall be willing in the day of Thy power, in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning:  Thou has the dew of Thy youth.  The LORD has sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest forever after the order of Melchizedek.

Hebrews 5:5-6, 9-10 - So also Christ glorified not Himself to be made a high priest; but He that said unto Him, Thou art My Son, today have I begotten Thee.  As He saith also in another place, Thou art a priest forever after the order of Melchisedec. - - - And being made perfect, He became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey Him; called of God a high priest after the order of Melchisedec.

Hebrews 6:18-20 - That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us: which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters into that within the veil; whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made a high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.

Hebrews 7:1-28 - For this Melchisedec, King of Salem, priest of the most high God, Who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him; to Whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all; first being by interpretation King of Righteousness, and after that also King of Salem, which is, King of Peace; without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God; abides a priest continually.  Now consider how great this man was, unto Whom even the patriarch Abraham gave the tenth of the spoils.  And verily they that are of the sons of Levi, who receive the office of the priesthood, have a commandment to take tithes of the people according to the Law, that is, of their brethren, though they come out of the loins of Abraham:  but He whose descent is not counted from them received tithes of Abraham, and blessed him that had the promises.  And without all contradiction the less is blessed of the better.  And here men that die receive tithes; but there He receives them, of whom it is witnessed that He lives.  And as I may so say, Levi also, who receives tithes, payed tithes in Abraham.  For he was yet in the loins of his father, when Melchisedec met him.  If therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood, (for under it the people received the Law), what further need was there that another priest should rise after the order of Melchisedec, and not be called after the order of Aaron?  For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the Law.  For He of Whom these things are spoken pertains to another tribe, of which no man gave attendance at the altar.  For it is evident that our Lord sprang out of Judah; of which tribe Moses spoke nothing concerning priesthood.  And it is yet far more evident:  for that after the similitude of Melchisedec there arises another priest, Who is made, not after the Law of a carnal commandment, but after the power of an endless life.  For He testifies, Thou art a priest forever after the order of Melchisedec.  For there is verily a disannulling of the commandment going before for the weakness and unprofitableness thereof.  For the Law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did; by which we draw nigh unto God.  And inasmuch as not without an oath He was made priest:   (For those priests were made without an oath; but this with an oath by him that said unto him, The Lord swore and will not repent, Thou art a priest forever after the order of Melchisedec):  by so much was Jesus made a surety of a better testament.  And they truly were many priests, because they were not suffered to continue by reason of death:  But this man, because He continues ever, has an unchangeable priesthood.  Wherefore He is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by Him, seeing He ever lives to make intercession for them.  For such an high priest became us, Who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens; Who need not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for His own sins, and then for the people's: for this He did once, when He offered up Himself.  For the Law makes men high priests which have infirmity; but the Word of the oath, which was since the Law, makes the Son, Who is consecrated forevermore.

1 John 2:22 - Who is a liar but he that denies that Jesus is the Christ?  He is Antichrist, that denies the Father and the Son.

1 John 5:1 - Whosoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loves Him Who begot, loves Him also Who is begotten of Him.
