The other day, I wrote a blog entitled "Saved Folks Brag on Jesus!" I presented ample passages from the Scriptures to show that those who are truly born again believers in Jesus Christ, cannot be silent; the faith within us compels us to tell others about our First Love! And yet, believe it or not, I received a few comments that suggested I am wrong! One mentioned shy people. Another mentioned fearful people. Still another said that a saved person may not know anything from the Bible to share! And finally, one even suggested that a person may get saved, and then choose to ignore God's Word, I cannot relate to any of these, as God has been faithful in continuing to mold me into the likeness of Christ, a goal which He will complete when I first see Jesus!!!
Philippians 1:6 - Being confident of this very thing, that He (our Father) Who has begun a good work in you will perform it (continue to work on us) until the day of Jesus Christ!
1 John 3:2 - Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it does not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when He shall appear, we shall be like Him; for we shall see Him as He is.
ALL born again believers have something to share; their own personal testimony as to how they were turned from a life focused upon sin, to the One Who paid for sin and gave us the "Down Payment" of His righteousness!
2 Corinthians 5:21 - For He (God, our Father) has made Him (the Son of God) to be sin for us, Who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.
Ephesians 1:12-14 - That we should be to the praise of His glory, who first trusted in Christ. In Whom you also trusted, after that you heard the Word of Truth, the Gospel of your salvation: in Whom also after that you believed, you were sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise, Who is the earnest (down payment; or the security deposit) of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of His glory.
Jesus told His disciples to preach repentance (turn from) and remission (payment for) sins! He said they were to begin at Jerusalem and Judea, and then go to the Samaritans, and finally to the entire Gentile world!
Luke 24:46-48 - And (Jesus) said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behooved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. And you are witnesses of these things.
Acts 1:8 - But you shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto Me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. [See Jerusalem and Judea - Acts 2; Samaria - Acts 8; Gentile world - Acts 10!]
He also told them in Matthew 28:19-20, to make disciples, to baptize them, and to teach them to follow in their footsteps: that is, they were to preach the message that can save the lost:: (the Gospel - Rom. 1:16; 1 Cor. 15:3-4); to baptize new believers (baptism follows salvation - Acts 8:35-38); and to teach them the Lord's will (the Christian way of life - Eph. 5:14-17)!
Matthew 28:19-20 - Go therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world (the age). Amen.
Romans 1:16 - For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone who believes; to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile.
1 Corinthians 15:1-4 - Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the Gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; by which also ye are saved - - - that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures; and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures.
Acts 8:35-38 - Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same Scripture, and preached unto him Jesus. And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what does hinder me to be baptized? And Philip said, If you believe with all your heart, you may. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.
Ephesians 5:14-17 - Wherefore he said, Awake you that sleep, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light. See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.
Yes, born again believers are to be the ones who DO THE WORK OF THE MINISTRY (Eph. 4:11-12)!
Ephesians 4:11-12 - And He gave some apostles; and some prophets; and some evangelists; and some pastors and teachers; for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ!
LET THE REDEEMED OF THE LORD SAY SO!
