SALVATION BY THE NUMBERS!

SALVATION BY THE NUMBERS!

The New Testament teaches that our salvation is the result of our faith; that believing the Gospel of Jesus Christ saves us.  According to The Blue Letter Bible Lexicon, there are two Greek words that clearly reveal this:

πίστις pístis - This word is translated "faith" 239 times in the King James Version of the Bible.  It does not appear even once in the Gospel of John.

Luke 7:50And He said to the woman, Your faith has saved you; go in peace.

Luke 18:42And Jesus said unto him, Receive your sight:  your faith has saved you.

Ephesians 2:8-9For by grace are you saved through faith; and that not of yourselves:  it is the gift of God:  not of works, lest any man should boast.

πιστεύω pisteúō - This word is translated "believe" exactly the same number of times (239)!  This word does appear in the Gospel of John:  86 times!

Luke 8:12 - Those by the way side are they that hear; then the devil comes and takes away the Word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.

John 4:42And said unto the woman, Now we believe, not because of your saying:  for we have heard Him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Savior of the world.

Acts 16:31And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you shall be saved....

THE APOSTLE PAUL SUMS IT ALL UP!

Romans 10:9-15, 17 - (As I understand it)
If you shall publicly confess with your mouth, faith in the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved.  For with the heart man believes and is declared of God to be righteous; and with the mouth confession of your faith results in your salvation.  For the Scripture says, Whosoever believes on Him shall not be ashamed.  For there is no difference between the Jew and the Gentile:  for the same Lord over all is rich in mercy and grace unto all who call upon Him.  For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
How then shall they call on Him in Whom they have not believed?  And how shall they believe in Him of Whom they have not heard?  And how shall they hear without someone sharing the Gospel?  And how shall they share, except they be sent?  As it is written, How beautiful are the feet of those who proclaim the Gospel of Peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! - - - So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.

ONE DOES NOT HIDE HIS LIGHT UNDER A BASKET,
BUT BOLDLY PLACES IT SO ALL CAN SEE BY IT!

JESUS IS OUR SOON-COMING LORD!
