SALVATION IS FREE, BUT THE TRULY SAVED ARE TO BE GOD'S WORKERS!

GOOD WORKS CANNOT SAVE YOU!

Matthew 7:22-23 - Many will say to Me in that day (on judgment day), Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name?  And in Your name have cast out devils?  And in Your name done many wonderful works?  And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you:  depart from Me, you that work iniquity.

Romans 4:2-5 - For if Abraham were justified by works, he has whereof to glory; but not before God.  For what does the Scripture say?  Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.  Now to him that work is the reward not reckoned of grace , but of debt (not considered a gift, but payment due).  But to him that works not (does not try to justify himself through religious works), but believes on Him Who justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.

Ephesians 2:8-9For by grace are you saved through faith; and that (salvation is) not of yourselves:  it is the gift of God:  not of works, lest any man should boast.

2 Timothy 1:9 - (God) Who has saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began....

Titus 3:4-5But after that the kindness and love of God our Savior toward man appeared, not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us....

BUT THE SAVED ARE KNOWN BY THEIR WORKS!

Matthew 5:16Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.  [Note that God is already their Father!]

John 6:28-29 - Then said they unto Him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?   Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that you believe on Him Whom He has sent (in other words, believe on Me - see Jn. 3:16-17; 1 Jn. 4:9).

Acts 26:19-20Whereupon, O king Agrippa, I was not disobedient unto the heavenly vision:  but showed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance.  [Note that they were first to turn to God, and then do works that showed forth their repentance!]

1 Corinthians 3:11-15For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.  Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; every man's work shall be made manifest:  for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.  If any man's work abide which he has built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.  If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss:  but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

1 Corinthians 15:58Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as you know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.

2 Corinthians 9:8 - And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work....

Ephesians 2:10 - For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God has before ordained that we should walk in them.

Philippians 2:13For it is God which works in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure.

2 Timothy 3:16-17All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:  that the man (children) of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

Titus 2:7In all things showing yourself a pattern of good works....

Titus 3:8This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that you affirm constantly, that those (ALL) who have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works.  These things are good and profitable unto men.

James 2:14, 17 - What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he has faith, and has not works? Can (that kind of) faith save him? - - - Even so faith, if it has not works, is dead, being alone.

WARNING!

Revelation 2:2, 9, 13; 3:8, 15 - (Jesus warns professing believers)

"I know your works...!"
