SALVATION IS A GIFT TO BE RECEIVED BY FAITH!
Ephesians 2:4-9 - But God, Who is rich in mercy, for His great love wherewith He loved us, even when we were dead in sins, has quickened (made us spiritually alive) us together with Christ, and has raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: that in the ages to come, He might show the exceeding riches of His grace (the unmerited favor of God) in His kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. For by grace you are saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast.
FAITH DEFINED!
Hebrews 11:1-2 - Now faith is the substance (reality) of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good report.
THE OBJECT OF THE FAITH THAT SAVES!
Mark 11:22 - And Jesus answering said unto them, Have faith in God.
John 14:1 - Let not your heart be troubled: you believe in God, believe also in Me (Jesus).
Acts 3:16 - And His name through faith in His name has made this man strong, whom you see and know: yes, the faith which is by Him has given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.
Romans 3:22-26 - Even the righteousness of God which is by faith in Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: for all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God has set forth to be a propitiation (the complete satisfaction of the debt) through faith in His blood (death - life is in the blood - Lev. 17:11), to declare His righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; to declare, I say, at this time His righteousness: that He might be just, and the justifier of him who believes in Jesus.
Romans 5:1-2 - Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: by Whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
Galatians 3:24-26 - Wherefore the Law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after that (saving) faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster. For you are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.
Ephesians 1:12-16 - That we should be to the praise of His glory, who first trusted in Christ. In Whom you also trusted, after that you heard the Word of Truth, the Gospel of your salvation: in Whom also after that you believed, you were sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise, Who is the earnest (security deposit) of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of His glory. Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints, cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers.
Colossians 1:3-5 - We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you, since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus, and of the love which you have to all the saints, for the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof you heard before in the Word of the Truth of the Gospel.
Colossians 2:5-7 - For though I be absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, joying and beholding your order, and the steadfastness of your faith in Christ. As you have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk you (live out your life) in Him: rooted and built up in Him, and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.
2 Thessalonians 1:3-4 - We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet (right), because your faith grows exceedingly, and the charity of every one of you all toward each other abounds; so that we ourselves glory in you in the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that you endure.
1 Timothy 4:12 - Let no man despise your youth; but you be an example of the believers, in Word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.
Titus 2:1-2 - But you speak the things which become sound doctrine: that the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience.
A WARNING ABOUT A LACK OF FAITH!
Hebrews 4:1-3, 6 - Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into His rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. For unto us was the Gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the Word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. For we who have believed do enter into rest, as He said, As I have sworn in My wrath, if they shall enter into My rest: although the works (the works of Jesus which provide salvation) were finished from the foundation of the world. - - - But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for He that comes to God must believe that He is, and that He rewards those who diligently seek Him.
TRUE BELIEVERS SHARE THEIR FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST!
(as I understand this passage)
Romans 10:9-11 - That if you will publicly confess with your mouth faith in the Lord Jesus, and do believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved. For with the heart man believes unto righteousness (a right standing with God); and with the mouth confession of faith in Him results in salvation. For the Scripture says, Whosoever believes in Jesus shall not be ashamed.
