THE GOSPELS OF MATTHEW AND JOHN: TWO PICTURES OF ONE WORTHY OF WORSHIP!

MATTHEW:
THE GOSPEL OF THE KING OF THE JEWS!

Matthew 2:11And when they (Magi - Wise Men; Oriental Astrologers) were come into the house (a home - Jesus was very likely a one year old), they saw the young child (again, not a babe but a young child) with Mary His mother, and (the Magi) fell down, and worshipped Him:  and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto Him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh.

Matthew 8:1-3 - When He was come down from the mountain, great multitudes followed Him.  And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped Him, saying, Lord, if You will (it so), You canst make me clean.  And Jesus put forth His hand, and touched him, saying, I will (it so); be clean.  And immediately, his leprosy was cleansed.

Matthew 9:18While He spake (was teaching) these things unto them, behold, there came a certain ruler (Jairus - a Jewish leader of the synagogue - Mk. 5:22; Lk. 8:41), and worshipped Him, saying, My daughter is even now dead:  but come and lay Thy hand upon her, and she shall live.

Matthew 14:32-33And when they (Jesus and Peter - see verse 29) were come into the ship, the wind ceased.  Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped Him, saying, Of a truth You are the Son of God.

Matthew 15:25Then came she (a Canaanite woman - a Gentile - see context verses 22-28) and worshipped Him, saying, Lord, help me.

Matthew 20:20 -  Then came to Him the mother of Zebedee's children (the mother of James and John) with her sons, worshipping Him, and desiring a certain thing of Him.

Matthew 28:9 - And as they (the women who had gone to His tomb) went to tell His disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail.  And they came and held Him by the feet, and worshipped Him.

JOHN:
THE GOSPEL OF THE SON OF GOD!

John 1:1-3, 14 - In the beginning (of time) was The Word, and The Word was with God, and The Word was God.  The Same was in the beginning with God.  All things were made by Him; and without Him was not any thing made that was made (see Col. 1:16-17; Heb. 1:1-2). - - - And The Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of The Only Begotten of the Father (see Jn. 1:18; 3:16, 18; 1 Jn. 4:9), full of grace and truth.

John 9:35-38 - Jesus heard that they had cast him (the man Jesus healed, who had been born blind - see verse 32) out; and when He had found him, He said unto him, Do you believe in the Son of God?  He answered and said, Who is He, Lord, that I might believe on Him?  And Jesus said unto him, You have both seen Him, and it is He Who is talking with you.  And he said, Lord, I believe.  And he worshipped Him.

John 20:24-28But Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came.  The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the Lord.  But he said unto them, Except I shall see in His hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into His side, I will not believe.  And after eight days, again His disciples were within, and Thomas (was) with them:  then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you.  Then He said to Thomas, reach here your finger, and behold My hands; and reach here your hand, and thrust it into My side:  and be not faithless, but believing.  And Thomas answered and said unto Him, My Lord and my God.

JESUS CAME AS ISRAEL'S MESSIAH, THEIR KING;
AND HE WAS CRUCIFIED FOR THE SINS OF THE WORLD,
WAS BURIED, AND WAS RAISED FROM THE DEAD,
TO BE KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS!

AS KING, HE IS TO BE OBEYED;
AS LORD, HE IS TO BE WORSHIPPED!
