WHAT IS THE SEPTUAGINT?
The Septuagint is the Greek translation of the Old Testament. The Old Testament was originally written in Hebrew. It was during the reign of Ptolemy Philadelphus (285-246 B.C.) That the Pentateuch, the first five books of the Bible, were translated into Greek. Shortly afterwards the rest of the Old Testament was also translated. This translation was done by approximately 70 translators. Hence, the Septuagint is known by the letters LXX, the Roman numerals for seventy. The Septuagint contained:

WHY IS THE SEPTUAGINT SO IMPORTANT?
The fact that the Septuagint was complied before 200 B.C., proves that the prophecies written in it were penned long before the revelation of the Virgin Birth of Christ in Bethlehem, His Death by Roman Crucifixion, His Burial, His Resurrection, and His Ascension! Those who suggest that books such as Daniel were added after these events in the life of Jesus Christ, are proven to be wrong. And, since many of the prophecies concerning Jesus have been fulfilled literally, it is logical to believe the remaining, yet unfulfilled, prophecies will also be fulfilled literally! Jesus is coming back! Jesus will rule on David's throne for a thousand years, for He IS King of kings, and Lord of lords!
BECAUSE GOD'S WORD CAN BE TRUSTED,
SO CAN GOD'S OFFER OF
FORGIVENESS OF SIN AND
ETERNAL LIFE TO THOSE WHO BELIEVE
IN THE LORD JESUS CHRIST!
