PASSAGES WHICH HELP UNDERSTAND THE TRIBULATION!
Daniel 9:26-27 - (Daniel's Seventieth "Week") - And after threescore and two weeks (sixty-nine "weeks of years") shall Messiah be cut off (the Crucifixion of Jesus, Israel's Christ), but not for Himself (Jesus was sinless - 2 Cor. 5:21; Heb. 4:15 - He died for the sin of the whole world - Jn. 1:29; 1 Jn. 2:2): and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary (the "prince that shall come will be from the territory ruled by the Roman Empire, as it was Rome that destroyed Jerusalem and the Temple in A.D. 70); and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined. And he (the "Roman prince")shall confirm the covenant with many for one week (the seven-year Tribulation): and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease (see Mt. 24:15; Rev. 13), and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.
Jeremiah 30:4-7 - (The Time of Jacob's Trouble) - And these are the words that the LORD spoke concerning Israel and concerning Judah. For thus says the LORD; We have heard a voice of trembling, of fear, and not of peace. Ask now, and see whether a man does travail with child? Wherefore do I see every man with his hands on his loins, as a woman in travail (Isa. 13:8; 21:3; 26:17), and all faces are turned into paleness? Alas! For that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob's trouble; but he shall be saved out of it.
Matthew 24:1-2 - The Jewish nature of the Tribulation) The destruction of Jerusalem and the Temple predicted by Jesus.
Matthew 24:4-5 - The Jews will still be waiting for their Messiah.
Matthew 24:6 - Israel will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but not experience them due to their covenant with the "prince" (the Antichrist - 1 Jn. 2:18; Rev. 13:1-10).
Matthew 24:9 - Believers in Jesus will be persecuted in Jewish synagogues (Mk. 13:9; Lk. 21:12).
Matthew 24:14 - Israel is still awaiting the fulfillment of the Davidic Covenant, that their Messiah will establish His kingdom and rule the world (Lk. 1:32).
Matthew 24:15-16 - Only in Israel's Temple could the abomination of desolation occur. That sign is to be an alarm for Jews in Judea to flee.
Matthew 24:20 - Only Israel celebrates the Sabbath.
Matthew 24:23-26 - Israel still looking for their Messiah.
Matthew 24:27-31 - The event for which Israel is looking is described.
Revelation Chapters 4 - 19 do not mention the Church! Chapters 2 - 3 discuss the Church and not Israel, with Chapter 4:1 being a picture of John, representing the Church Age, being caught up to heaven. This is exactly like the removal of the Church (The Rapture) as described in John 14:1-3; 1 Corinthians 15:50-54; and 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18!
What we learn from all of this, is that God's 490 year dealings with Israel are interrupted by a parenthetical period known as the Church Age. The Church Age will end with its removal, and the last seven years of the 490 will take place. It is at the end of the completed 490 years that the Second Coming of Christ occurs, and following the destruction of Israel's enemies, He will establish the 1000 year reign known as the Millennial Kingdom (Rev. Ch. 20).
SO, THE ORDER OF FUTURE EVENTS AS DESCRIBED IN THE BIBLE ARE:
THE RAPTURE OF THE CHURCH; THE TRIBULATION OF ISRAEL;
THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST; THE MILLENNIAL KINGDOM, AND ETERNITY (EITHER IN HEAVEN, OR IN THE LAKE OF FIRE!
CHOOSE NOW TO TRUST IN JESUS,
AND KNOW THAT YOU WILL SPEND ETERNITY WITH HIM!
