GOD'S HATRED FOR OUR LACK OF LOVE!

SEVEN THINGS GOD HATES!

[Proverbs 6:16-19 as I understand the passage]

The LORD hates these six things:  make that seven that are an abomination unto Him:

       A proud look, [The opposite of humility - self-righteous, thinking they are spiritually superior and wiser that everyone else]

       A lying tongue, [One who deliberately distorts the truth - refuses to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth]

       Hands that shed innocent blood, [One who hates so much that they inflict bodily harm on others, and whose actions reveal a murderous heart]

       A heart that devises evil plans, [One who makes plans to do harm to another out of hatred for that person]

       Feet that are swift in running to carry out evil, [An attempt to gain an advantage by attacking another before he can defend himself]

       A false witness who speaks lies, [One who distorts the truth with the intent of perverting justice and causing another to be disgraced and even incarcerated]

       He that sows discord within the family. [One who is swift to spread gossip about a family member in hopes of defending their words and actions with the hope that other family members will take sides in a disagreement]

WHAT DO ALL THESE HAVE IN COMMON?

THEY LACK LOVE!

[1 Corinthians 13:1-7 as I understand the passage]

       If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not love, my flowery words are simply an unpleasant noise.  And even if I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and my faith is strong enough to move mountains, if I do not have love, I am nothing! And even if I give away all I haves to feed the poor, and I am killed for doing these good things, if I am not motivated by love to do so, my sacrifice is worth nothing! 
       Genuine love willingly endures suffering and it is always kind;  For genuine love is not envious, nor does it cause loving persons to think more highly of themselves than they should, but it is marked by humility!  Genuine love does not behave selfishly, nor does it look for the applause of others; it is patient and does not respond to rejection or the attack of others, but thinks as Christ thinks!  Genuine love does not rejoice when others fail, but rejoices when others live according to God's Word:  The Truth!  Genuine love endures all things, believes all things that harmonize with God's Word, and always remains hopeful, enduring this evil world until our Lord returns for us! 

CLAIMING TO BE A CHRISTIAN IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH; 

THE LOST WORLD KNOWS HOW CHRISTIANS ARE SUPPOSED TO ACT, 

AND BECAUSE WE OFTEN FAIL, 

THEY REJECT OUR TESTIMONY FOR THE LORD!  

PRAY FOR FORGIVENESS AND ASK THE LORD FOR A HEART LIKE HIS!
