GOD INTENDED US TO BE LIKE HIM!

GOD'S GOAL IN THE CREATION OF MANKIND!

Genesis 1:26-27 - And God said, Let Us make man in Our image, after Our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth.  So God created man in His own image, in the image of God created He him; male and female created He them.

GOD IS HOLY!    GOD IS JUST!    GOD IS RIGHTEOUS!

Psalm 99:9 - Exalt the LORD our God, and worship at His holy hill; for the LORD our God is holy.

Isaiah 6:3 - And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts:  the whole earth is full of His glory.

Deuteronomy 32:4 - He is the Rock, His work is perfect:  for all His ways are judgment:  a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is He.

Isaiah 45:21 - You tell, and bring them near; yes, let them take counsel together:  Who has declared this from ancient time?  Who has told it from that time?  Have not I the LORD?  And there is no other God besides Me; a just God and a Savior; there is none beside Me.

Psalm 7:17 - I will praise the LORD according to His righteousness:  and will sing praise to the name of the LORD most high.

Matthew 6:33 - But seek first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

MAN IS NOT HOLY!  MAN IS NOT JUST!  MAN IS NOT RIGHTEOUS!

Leviticus 20:7 -  Sanctify yourselves therefore, and be ye holy: for I am the LORD your God.

1 Peter 1:15-16 - But as He Who has called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.

Proverbs 11:7 - When a wicked man dies, his expectation shall perish:  and the hope of unjust men perishes.

1 Peter 3:18 - For Christ also has once suffered for sins, the Just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit.

Job 15:14 - What is man, that he should be clean?  And he who is born of a woman, that he should be righteous?

Romans 3:10 - As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one.

GOD'S SOLUTION TO MAN'S LACK 

OF HOLINESS, JUSTNESS, AND RIGHTEOUSNESS!

Romans 1:16-17 - For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ:  for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone who believes; to the Jews first, and also to the Gentiles.  For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith:  as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

1 Corinthians 15:1-6 - Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the Gospel which I preached unto you, which also you have received, and wherein you stand; by which also you are saved . . . For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures; and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures:  and that He was seen by Peter, then by the twelve:  after that, He was seen by more than five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some have died.
2 Corinthians 5:21 - For He has made Him to be sin for us, Who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.

Galatians 3:6 - Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.
